Having an impressive year so far...Anyone see him getting a chance at the NBA? I've always been a big fan of his and hope he gets his opportunity

Stats

PPG: 14.8 (23.8 PPG over the last 5 games & 21.1 over the last 10)
FG: 55%
FT: 78%
Reb: 5
Ast: 2

He won't make it in the NBA as a 6'6 PF.

I think Taz would have been a beast in football.

Never say never to Ben Wallace or Jason Maxiel or Brandon Bass.

Are those guys 6'6?

I think Taz measured in at 6'5 without shoes.

Haven't seen him play but based on his stats it appears his mid range shot has improved and I definitely think he could play as a backup SF

All of which have insane hops, wingspan, or both. Bass is legit 6'8, same with Wallace, and Maxiel is easily 6'7. Love Taz, but tell me how many dunks he had his last year at LSU? I actually know this for a fact because I kept track of it...0. Dunks mean nothing, but they show explosiveness and ups, he can't compete at his height without them.

14.8 PPG seem to indicate that he is competing...I know it's not the NBA but I would argue he is better than some of the SF in the NBA that ride the pine

Some out of contention NBA team will give him a 10 day contract. Problem is, the players he would have to guard in the NBA would overpower him.

He was legit in jr. high. He could throw a jr. high size ball 60 yds. But in 7th grade he broke his right leg and his mom wouldn't let him play anymore.

he has no position.

he is too small to be a power forward in the NBA.

not enough game for small forward.

if he happens to learn to shoot a 3 and becomes a premier free throw shooter THEN he could make it in the league.
dont hold your breath.

He should move to Russia, Turkey, Poland, some lower tier world hoops city and make a better living.

Any idea what a D-League player makes? Google says only around $15,000, but that seems kind of low

What do guys in those other lower tier leagues make?

Dejuan Blair measured in at 6'5.25" without shoes at the combine and he seems to be doing fine. Not great hops either.

Driveman is right. The D league stats are so over inflated, you can drop about 25 a game and it does not mean shite in terms of translating to the NBA.

He is a wide load, see Big Baby. Taz is not wide nor does he have the athleticism to play meaningful minutes in the NBA.

If Taz was a good 3pt shooter he would be in the NBA. He is a PF trapped in SG/SF body. He also isn't an above the rim guy like Shannon Brown either.

He is a great guy and a super athlete. Everyone expected to grow another 3+ inches. Also his highschool coach and John Brady sucked. So little development came out of that. If he would have been developed more as a perimeter player maybe he would already be balling in the NBA.

I wish he would have or would try to transition to football.

He played football in junior high with me. He was a tight end. Imagine trying to cover a 6'3" (don't remember what he was in junior high, just a guess) kid in junior high. But stuck with basketball once he got in high school. Really hope he gets somewhere. All around good guy.
