For a game ending drive would you rather have Defense or Offense on the field?

I've thought about it and I just like having the ball in your hand at the end of games but at times the past few seasons I've hoped we wouldn't be the team needing to score to win. Last year's Florida game was a small miracle for me seeing us go down the field and put it in the end zone. I'm curious what other tiger fans think because i'd expect more defense answers than maybe other fan bases.

I would feel much more comfortable with the lead and our defense on the field making a stand

I would definitely feel more comfortable with a lead and the defense on the field to make a stop. But it's always exciting to watch the offense score to win the game

Offense....Tenn was a bust but FL and bama the offense got it done. I guess it all depends who we are playing too.

Offense in a toss up. Just because i trust Les' play calls more than our defense not letting up a big play (think Arkansas last season) or their offense getting a lucky play

That's a no-brainer. Offense. If it's a "game-ending" drive, that implies scoring at the end.
However, if you mean that the game is on the line and you're in the lead on defense, vs being behind in the score and you're on offense, then I still would rather have defense. It's easier to stop the other team from scoring than it is to score, though it's more exciting to be the offense that does score the game winning points at the end of the game.

Generally I would prefer the offense being on the field.
However if JJ is the qb in the game defense.
Mett or Lee would prefer defense but think the offense would have a much better chance.

Perhaps it's a mean streak in me but I prefer the defense. I want to see their last hope snuffed out by a great defensive play. I want to see them have their hearts broken.

This sentiment is idiotic. You have not seen what these guys can do in a full game. We've seen the bad Lee of 08, and we saw the flashes of brilliance Lee in 10, but never running the offense the whole time.
And Mettenberger played well in community college. Chill out on him bro.

Uh but I have seen what JJ cant do in over 2 seasons! Go through his progessions-cant do it. Read defenses - cant do it. Make good decisions and hit receivers in stride - cant do it.
Idiotic is doing the same thing that has failed in the past and expect it to all of a sudden succeed. For example putting Jefferson on the field and expect him to magically transform into a competent qb after seeing him fail over and over.

Coaches and realists: defense
Lukewarm fans and those seeking heart palpitations: offense

I respect your psychotic hatred for Jefferson as much as anyone does, but don't you ever get tired of spewing it?
As I asked before, what does it accomplish?
What is your ultimate goal?
What do you expect will be changed?

Our O was almost dead last in the past 2 years and you want to leave it up to our Offense? Is this a trick question??

Defense, of course. With Mett at QB, offense.

LSU would be driving against Junior College team? Was that in the original premise?

What is the lead? If the other team needs a touchdown to tie/win I'd much rather be on defense. If it's just a field goal to win I'd rather be on offense. Chavis bends/not break a lot and I'd feel more confident with Lee needing to get a few first downs/hit 1 big play than stopping a team from getting into field goal range.
I'm assuming Les would put Lee in the game. He did it last year when he needed a drive to win the game.
