I am asking because im getting cruise tickets for christmas, but i will be paying every extra expense.

so, if i drink 3-4 doubles a night (if they are shitty pours, then i may drink more) how much should i budget for that. Also, how much money did you spend on the excursions for food and drink?

Did any of you buy booze there? how does that work. I assume I cant drink it on the ship. Do I have to check it in on the ship for customs.

Fist cruise. can ya tell?

Buy bottled water. Empty and fill with vodka. Rewrap packaging.

I've never done it but know people that did it.

accroding to the website, we can bring a 6 pack of non alcoholic beverages. that would be enough vodka to get me thorough a week for sure.

we bought alcohol for cheap in nassau. got a couple cheap t-shirts and put those on top of bottles when re-entered ship. we may have been lucky but they didn't check.

the water bottle idea works as well

They flip the water bottles to tell the difference between water and vodka. It happened to me every time I boarded the ship on my cruise in July. I went on the same cruiseline 3 years ago and felt like they were much more diligent in searching this time around.

We were each allowed two bottles of wine to bring on. After that you had to do a good job sneaking stuff. The iced tea bottles are good for stuff other than vodka. Yes, you have to check bottles you buy at port or on the ship.

This works well unless they randomly search your bag.

Drink it up on the excursions. They are going to rip you off on the boat

ive heard stories of friends coming back with near $1K or more bar tabs.

both because they drink a lot and are pricey.

as a girl you prob dont drink as much, i would budget about $80 per night you want to drink. just to be safe

i dont think i will do 1K. we are going for 5 nights. and I probably wont drink daily. I will probably drink 3-4 nights. and usually have 3 doubles on a short night an 5 doubles on a long night...

So 100 a night is about right. nice calcuation

We filled up empty water bottles with vodka and clear rum and put in our carry ons. Aside from that, i budgeted $500 for drinks, and came home with less than $20. Instead of giving them my credit card to run, i gave them cash to put on the cruise card.

I've only been on one cruise. I brought a 1.75 liter in my suitcase. Put it in the middle of my bag an covered up with toiletry bag with alot of small items. When it went thru the x-ray the out line of the bottle was so broken up by the toiletry bag it was hidden. If they find it, it was a cheap loss compared to what might cost hundereds. Buy a soda card for $30 bucks and enjoy!

You do not need to rebottle your smuggled booze. Just put it in the middle of your suitcase.

Just pretend you are a student sneaking into Tiger Stadium in the early 80s and you will do just fine with the smuggling.
