What happened to TGI Friday's?

I'm a little new to the area (~ 1 year) and saw online that there use to be a TGI Friday's on Essen Lane, seemingly where Gatti's is now. What happened to it besides the obvious fact that it closed down? Bad service? No business? Corporate down-sizing?

BR food scence sucks and can't support a TGI Fridays.

The real question is what happened to Chili's?
I look at the menu now and don't see anything worth getting anymore. Has it become Applebees

i read online it was one of the unhealthiest places you could possibly eat.

There is one on Veterans in Metairie that has been opened for a year or two. Place is always crowded it seems.

TGI Fridays kinda blow IMO. I don't mind a Ruby Tuesdays though on account of the big arse salad bar. On the chain subject, I went to an Outback for the first time in a year or so last night. They've revamped the menu some. It was pretty damn good.

The Chili's on College Drive is a joke - especially the To-Go service. Waiting 45 minutes in line for food that was ordered before you got there is outrageous.
And yes, their menu is getting a little - um - weird. Pizza? Really?

Ive been to y'all's Outback. It's a good one. Outback's prime rib can hang with most anybody's .

I've only been to Outback once in the last 10 years but the ribeye and blue cheese wedge were tasty.
Automatic chain hate is nonsense. Even the worst of chains have some decent items on the menu.
I always liked the french onion soup from TGI Fridays although it has been over 10 years since I hit a Fridays.

Gatti's has been there forever. Friday's was across the street, where Ichiban is now (I believe).

Agreed. When I feel like eating like an obese American, I love nothing more than to go to Texas Roadhouse. The bread, salad, and steak are all damn good.
