Who has stayed near Times Square for around $200.00 pr night? Where did you stay? Going in Summer and looking now.

You couldn't rent a homeless man's box for $200 a night in Times Square.

Last time I stayed in Midtown was at the Wellington. 7th Ave and around 55th St. It wasn't too pricy.

I stayed last summer at The Amsterdam for $140. Real close to Times Square (3 blocks). It's on 7th and 50th.

Wife and I stayed at The Iriquois Hotel, few blocks off Time Square I think. It was a nice place . Small rooms , though.

We stayed at the Hilton garden inn midtown east about 5 blocks from Times Square for $189 a night last month.
It was about a 10 minute walk to everything we wanted to see while there.

Don't know, last time I stayed in a youth hostel.
Don't ask, never again.

Anything that cheap in the summer will be a shoebox and/or pretty shitty. Would honestly look around other areas(financial district, chelsea) and see what else is available in that range.

Jersey City DoubleTree FTW. 2 blocks from the clean Subway that puts you right on 33rd St.
It is nice to get out of Manhattan after spending the day there.
Umless you have some of great deal with points.....i would not stay at a sub $200 NYC hotel.

Why do you need to stay right at Times Square? You can get any number of hotels in another part of town that are a 5-10 minute walk from Times Square or a quick hop on and off of a subway stop. It could save you hundreds. Don't confine yourself to Times Square unless this is for work and it is required. See a little more of NYC, please.

Stayed at ROW NYC on 8th street, right next to time square. Was a nice little shoebox! Very convinent location, but was a little more than $200 if I recall. Closer to $250 maybe?

Comfort Inn Central Park West. One block from Central Park and subway. Wife and I stayed last June'14. Fantastic location. Rooms were very small, but we didn't care. Window A/C units were loud though! They had a nice breakfast every morning. That was a huge plus.
Averaged $228/night. For the location we couldn't find anything cheaper unless we wanted a hotel with "shared" bathrooms. Mentioned that option to wife she said, "Hell, to the NO!".
