What is the worst contract in sports?

I will say Albert Pujols: 10 years 254 million with the Angels starting in 2012, has a combined WAR of 13.3 over his first 4 seasons and a -0.8 WAR this year

You would be accurate. Ryan Howard's deal is expiring this year I believe.

Whatever Kobe was being paid.

Bobby Bo still getting paid by the mets

In hockey it's Dave Bolland or David Clarkson

These probably aren't the worst, but a few where the guy isn't even playing come to mind. Some of the Detroit ones are the Pistons did that waive and extend thing on Josh Smith, the Red Wings may have to endure Pavel Datsyuk cap hit if he retires, and who knows on Calvin Johnson's retirement. Or, like vengeancetrain mentioned, Bobby Bo.

I agree with your Pujols choice. I'm also obligated to mention that the Mets are still paying Bobby Bonilla 1M+ per season until 2035. He hasn't played in MLB since 2001
Nvm someone already mentioned that

Josh Hamilton's Angels deal. Were the Rangers on the hook for any of that when they acquired him?

Wut? Kobe was the reason the lakers still had fans filling their seats. Plus he was paid for his accomplishments and what he did for the Lakers

In the NFL, Albert Haynesworth's with the Redskins.

Is that you Jim Buss?

This. The Lakers were not winning shite with or without Kobe the past couple of years. Giving Kobe that contract was the front office's way of trying to tank without admitting they were tanking.

Matt Ryan may not be the worst but his contract is ridiculous

The Bobby B contract from the Mets. Dude is still getting paid
Posted on 4/24/16 at 10:27 am to RyanL
I always thought the Gilbert Arenas contract that Washington gave him was insane.

Disagree. They weren't going to contend for a while but still having Kobe made them a lot of money. He was bad enough to not make them winners but still could put on enough of a show to draw crowds. Good contract for the Lakers.

Isn't Bobby Bonilla still getting paid by the Mets?
I will say that one.
I will say that one.
