I handwash all my dishes but for some reason just like the thought of sanitizing them all the way with the dishwasher afterwards.

My Samsung dishwasher went out. Won't power on so i'm thinking the main board went out in it. I'm not going to attempt to fix it.

Of the little research i've done so far there are no manufacturers like SpeedQueen that manufacture dependable residential dishwashers.

So having said that. What's a good brand? Model?
I've never been a fan of Bosch for anything from spark plugs to Power tools but i'm seeing that a bunch of people are saying Bosch and Miele (sp) are the go to's for dishwashers.

Recs?

I was kinda eyeballing the Bosch Ascends in stainless steel. Lowes has it on sale right now for $629.00

We have a Fisher Paykel. Two motors, top and bottom drawers. Doesn't require dish washing detergent.

Been great for us.

Since you already paged Napoleon- Can I get an opinion on the drawer type pull out dishwashers as opposed to traditional? Recommendations on brand? I need to pick one this week for a kitchen renovation.

I have that very Bosch and it cleans like a champ and is very quite. It breasts the hell out of the Whirlpool's I've had.

For drawer pull out get Fisher Paykel or none at all, that is their thing, the pull out and they are on the seventh generation of pull out dish washers now.

I prefer dishwashers with stainless steel tubs and at least three spray arms. All brands seem to make decent ones and shite ones. If you can get a Bosch on sale that can be good.
The Whirlpool brands aren't bad for dishwashers, but Bosch has the more powerful circulation motors which can result in cleaner dishes and a shorter wash cycle.

Before you get too wrapped around Consumer Affairs, note the comment halfway down the page that "this company does not participate in the Consumer Affairs..." I heard that Consumer Affairs used to be legit but now is Pay to Play. That would seem to confirm the rumor. Hell, they used to brag that they bought all samples retail and refused interaction with manufacturers.

Since you're here, how is the Kenmore 13693?

I've had it for about two months, and so far I'm very happy with it. Am I in for any surprises?

I've owned two Bosch dishwashers and they've both been excellent.

I've had a Bosch for a few years now. The one I have was only three or four hundred something dollars installed from Lowe's or Home Depot.

It cleans well, I have had no problems and have to actually look at the lights to know when it is finished because it is so quiet.

On mine when you put it on "pot scrubber" it automatically does the sanitize cycle. I use this every time I wash because of the peace of mind of having sanitized dishes.

GE would be my recommendation. They tend to stick to the solid engineering vs overdoing the bells and whistles. They have everything from entry level to high-horser models. I think most are made in the USA.
