I have the iphone 6 and looking to upgrade. I have had iphones for 6 years now.. buy open to android. Was dead set on the note 7 until they took them off the shelf. Main reason was because of the bad arse camera. It had the best MP i saw on any. So anyway, what do you suggest and why? I need reasons why one is better than the iphone 7.

Pixel/Pixel XL is the best Android if you want to switch.
It has the top rated camera right now. dxomark still hasn't rated the 7 plus camera, the 7 is 3 points behind the Pixel though, 89-86.

i had actually looked at the pixel 30 mins before posting this. They compared pics from iphone 7 and pixel and showed that iphone 7 pics were much better. Though the pixel google technology like siri was much better

I don't know who they is but they're wrong. The pixel has a better camera than the 7. Like someone else said though the 7+ is a mystery as it hasnt been tested.

I think they aren't testing it because there is some firmware/software still to be officially released for the camera. The lame Bokeh thing isn't included in 10.0 releases. It's in the 10.1 beta, so I think they are holding off til Apple officially releases the full camera update.

I've been torn between the Pixel XL and the Moto Z series. In the end, I went Moto merely because I have become so accustomed to (spoiled by) the convenience of Moto actions. From all accounts, both the Pixel series and the Moto series are outstanding in every respect...blazing fast, super smooth and very good cameras. My Moto Z Force Droid Edition is currently enroute & due for delivery Monday.

I just switched from a moto x2 to a pixel and I am missing not having to press a button to light the screen up.

iPhone 7/7+ hands down
quote:
Last year Apple launched iPhone 6s which, despite being completely rebuilt from 7000 series aluminum, got dinged for being the same old design, with the same old "ugly" antenna lines on the back. Some competitors had been shipping features like stereo speakers and water resistance, and Apple, apparently, couldn't even fit optical image stabilization (OIS) into the regular-sized iPhone 6s. Also: Expensive! And don't even get them started about those big-forehead-and-chin bezels!
Some of this year's criticism was even worse, with Apple adding stereo speakers, water resistance, and optical image stabilization to the regular-sized iPhone 7, but daring to keep the same design, at the same starting price, and with the same still not-deleted bezels.
Then Google announced the Pixel and Pixel XL.
They were segmented like iPhones, priced like iPhones, and they even looked like iPhones — roughly the same shape, with the same "ugly" antenna lines, and the same big-chin-and-forehead bezels. (Despite not having a Home button on the bottom front.)
Google made a point of how they controlled the hardware this time, from design to features. Google could have made the Pixel look like anything — like a Galaxy S7 Edge, like an LG G5, like a Moto X, or like something completely new and refreshing. Google carefully, deliberately, chose to make it look like an iPhone 6s, though. And that means they get to own that choice. As do we.
So, everyone who'd been criticizing Apple and iPhone design immediately called Google out for aping it?
Not so much.
Well, at least they called Google and Pixel out for the same things they called Apple and iPhone out for?
Again, not so much.
Surely they drew the line at Google's 2016 flagship missing optical image stabilization — not just in the regular-size, but in the Plus XL model as well — stereo speakers, and water resistance — things that were pointed to last year as indicators Apple was falling behind?
Turns out, not deal-breakers either.
It's almost like the Pixel is being graded on a curve. And that's terrible for consumers. "You slagged iPhone for XYZ, but now that Google has XYZ, but is missing ABC, it's the greatest thing ever? Um…. close browser, delete bookmark!"

Good luck finding a Pixel depending on which one you want. The Pixel XL 128GB is out of stock except at maybe Verizon stores and there will not be any more stock of them until after the first of the year.

Both have their pros and cons.

Yep, LG has been setting the pace in terms of phone camera technology for several years now.

I have a gadget addiction and take it out on phones. I love tinkering and modifying things so the iPhone was never at the top of my list. I've had literally every flagship phone from every brand for the past 8 years. This is painful to say, but the 7+ is the winner right now. It's got the best all around speed for usability, apps, camera, multitasking, etc to handle daily business with ease. It's my go to phone on my main line, and I'm on it 24/7 for work. There were a few bugs upon release, but they've been patched up and it's the clear winner with the second not even being close. This is coming from someone who was an Android fanboy for years. It's the first iPhone I feel can be a true daily driver.
All that said, most casual users will just choose what operating system and skin they're most comfortable with and tech stats don't mean shite. Most people don't even know how different each company's versions of Android are. Samsung is nothing like Lg, which is nothing like HTC, etc. Go to a store and try each one out to see what's he most user friendly for you, but you just can't go wrong with a 7+ right now.

Pixels or the LG V20. A cheaper option if you're on a budget is the LG G4, still a amazing phone.

This is my next phone. I will miss the stylus but I get to keep my large screen, microSD slot and removable battery (yes, some folks like removable batteries)

I have the LG V 10. Love this thing. Best picture quality from a phone-mounted camera I have ever seen. Have not seen the V 20, but if they improved on the 10 it should be a monster.
