I'm going conservative at No. 14. Tigers always seem to play better when Top 10 respect isn't given. I believe they'll finish Top 7 next year as the climb out of mediocrity continues.

That's not going to happen next season. You've got too many "brand name" schools that finished the year strong for LSU to sniff the top 5 to start.

Ohio St. in the playoff with a young-ish team, Michigan love fest will continue, Oklahoma steam rolling Auburn, USC on a 9 game win streak with beating Penn State in the Rose, Penn State for that matter, I'm sure Washington will be high, Wisconsin even...besides the obvious of Clemson and Bama.

That's at least nine teams that would/should be ranked ahead of LSU in preseason. Hell, you'd also have to include Florida St. and Florida in the top 10 conversation.

I'd be truly surprised if LSU makes the top 10 to start next year. I think around 15 would be about right, with 12 being a best case scenario.

Edit: Might be able to throw in Colorado and Oklahoma St. into the mix for being ahead of LSU. Perhaps, Louisville will get some love after returning the Heisman trophy winner.

13. We definitely have the talent to gain a lot of preseason attention, just have a few too many question areas to be in the top 10

14 or 15 seems about right to me. We're losing quite a bit of talent on defense.

Somewhere between 10 and 15 is expected. We might sneak into the top 10 just on respect for Aranda's defense.

Still, that defense was outstanding this season and we still lost 4 games. A lot depends on Canada and the offense.
