Whoever is in charge of choosing where we play our home games should be fired. We are giving them such an advantage and risking not making the WC for a couple extra bucks. This game should be played in fricking Boise. But no let's make it super easy for opposing fans to come and play in a humid tropical climate that favors their players over ours. fricking brilliant decision

The Costa Rican players specifically mentioned after the game how comfortable playing in Red Bull Arena was for them. Epic fail. US Soccer were morons for scheduling the match there. Should have played them late at night in Denver. They hated that in 2013. Our home games should feel like home games and make our CONCACAF rivals uncomfortable. Lord knows they do the same to us.

Don't know how many Panama expats live in Orlando, but I know quite a few live in Miami.

Orlando should have a pro-US crowd. They have a massive AO chapter.

It's bullshite that Portland and/or Seattle didn't get to host a qualifier. Sunil Gulati is incompetent.

I'd have to imagine turf is the only reason why, which is bullshite, since 95% of the grass pitches we already play on in CONCACAF are worse than high school quality.

A qualifier in Portland or Seattle would be awesome. And a guaranteed 95%+ pro-US crowd.

Exactly. I'm sure Mexico would hate it, too. Which is why we should try to replicate that cold, miserable environment as well as possible.

There will probably never be another Snow Game, but we can certainly make their trips to the US much more miserable than we are. Every little advantage helps, and our players would cope with cold weather far better than most teams.

Make Barrow, Alaska the official home of US soccer.

I don't think Denver is that bad in early September.

The main reason they schedule an unreasonable amount of games in Florida is that the team can easily travel to the Caribbean without too much travel time, and change in environments.

That's it. Sunil Gulati has said as much in interviews. It's a garbage reason. No other confederation does that.

We played a freaking friendly in Cuba in a stadium with no running water a a field that looked like it had been used to graze cattle. The high school stadium that my single A soccer team plays in in a rural southern town is Jerry World compared to what they played on in Cuba. They can play on turf and like it!

I can't even begin to explain the rage I feel for some of these sites that have been chosen.

Us soccer is incompetent from top to bottom. We make so many bad decisions it's almost unbelievable.

The only good thing about missing the World Cup is that it means we get rid of Sunil.

I understand playing the Gold Cup in these cities, because it's supposed to be a neutral site, but it's almost as if we're trying to accommodate the away fans in what should be HOME games. It's so absurdly stupid.

THIS. all day and every day. He's set US soccer back as much, if not more than anyone.

I'm sure Sunil has some sort of gentlemans agreement with the other CONCACAF Feds to play games in cities that opposing fans to get to easily.

There's no reason why every game shouldn't be in places like Seattle or Columbus where you get a genuine homefield advantage.
