Lake Okhissa in Ms is pretty clear. I've snorkled it a few times. Be advised they have alligators and I got to meet one by means of seeing a dinosaur tail pass a couple of feet in front of my face. Small less than 5ft so no worries though. Probably other clearer lakes though if you're talking 6hrs.

Morrison Springs on the panhandle is at the edge of your range. It's a great little dive spot or kayaking locale.

Indian Creek or Kincaid Lake near Alexandria are probably some of the clearer lakes in the state. Toledo Bend is probably the deepest and clears up pretty good too. I passed my scuba test at Toledo Bend. Other than that, you'll have to go out of state.

Lake Degray would probably be the closest. It's close to Caddo Valley right off of I-30. Plenty of camping areas for RVs and tents or you could rent a cabin at Iron Mountain Marina or the state park. We always stay at Iron Mountain, they have covered boat slips. DeGray is 30 minutes or so south of hot springs and arkadelphia is 15 minutes south.

Greers Ferry is going to suck for a while as far as fishing goes. Something going on at the hatchery and they aren't releasing baitfish in the lake. Guys I know that fish it say fishing is really tough.... especially for stripers which is what it's known for.

My personal choice for clear/clean would be DeGray mainly because I've spent more time on it than the others in the area. Ouachita is the gem of the state and would be a good choice too.
I prefer the dirtier lakes in the Southern part of the state mainly because they fit my fishing style a lot better.

clean and clear are not exactly the same thing,,,it can be crystal clear but be a toxic soup of PCBs or fecal colifrom....

or can be muddy as heck and be pretty biologically, chemically or organically "clean"
