In Monroe we have had right around 70 inches (average 54 a year) of rain this year. Ouachita is up to 35.6 inches and rising like Mt Everest every week.

I remember 1991 and it is shaping up exactly like that year when it never stopped raining all winter and by the time spring started up it was at 50 plus.

When I say it hasn't stopped raining, I mean we haven't had a week go by without two days of torrential rain in three months.

Prepare thy anus north louisiana.

Agree...the rains this year have been damn steady and are causing a good bit of trouble right now. If we have any kind of snowmelt in the spring, I am afraid we ari in for a pretty bad time.

Why? Well, if you loved here you'd know fricking why

Ouachita will be at 41 feet soon.

And it ain't even March yet. We best have one dry freaking month of January and February or we will be canoeing to work.

This is for at Monroe. Looks like you are protected unless you are outside the levee

Great, left a flooded mess in H-town (thanks Harvey for those stellar memories) and moved here for work. At least I got flood insurance now.

No, I'm not even close to one of those freaks.

Furthest you will ever find. I know that is hard to believe behind a keyboard. No qualms.

Just reporting what is going on up here. If you live up here you get it. I've been here for 40 years.

Only one time I remember it like this before spring season, 1991.

41 feet by Sunday and only in January is quite a big deal.

That was an epic flood. Just think how bad that would have been if the levee didn't blow out at Mollicy. Probably saved Monroe.

We had 72" in the Bluegrass last year. Previous record was 66" in 2011. A warm and wet Winter is predicted. We can expect some flooding, too.
