Parent of the OT. What should I do with my kid over the summer in BR?

I have a 6 year old boy and need to find somewhere for him to go in the summer after school let’s out. I would like it to be an enriching experience where he can grow and learn, and not just be babysat in a daycare.
What summer camps and centers around the BR area could provide what I’m looking for?

Scared straight.
But not too long, may make some connections.

6 is pretty young for summer camp isn't it? They may not even accept him until older.

Why did you leave Braiden behind?

NBR Cleanup Camp is an excellent cultural and learning experience

Parkview has a good summer camp and you don't have to be a student. My daughter went to it for years. They do something fun every day.
If that's not your scene the Y has camps as well.

Take in what you can from the OT responses, but don't make a final decision until you hear from Pecker. He can set you straight.

He’s not good enough. Thinking of hiring a new hitting coach

BREC has good Art, Astronomy, science, Zoo camps. They are cheap as frick and fill up FAST! You could easily find 4-5 weeks worth of camps if you sign up now.

Travel Ball. He’ll be getting college offers and being looked at by scouts at 8 years old

I agree—BREC has some really good specialty camps. Register early for them though, like the first 30 minutes that online registration opens. I’m not sure how good their “regular” day camps are though, but it seems like they do a lot of activities and field trips.
I think LSU also has a decent day camp with swimming lessons attached.

A lot of churches have good day camps for kids that age.
Usually only last a couple weeks though.

Alexander the Great had Aristotle as his mentor from the age of 13-16, prior to serving as the regent (leader) of Macedonia at 16 while his father was away on a war campaign.
I’d recommend something like that, even for a 6 year old.

Get him out of BR for the Summer. That would make more sense.

By the time you get through traffic to drop him off at camp, summer will be over.
