I could see that happening if we were about to strike somewhere vitally important to the enemy. And as a conservative, I would have zero issues with it as long as it was only temporary and in the name of actual national security.

The VP is briefed, staffed, and secured exactly as the President is on national security/defense matters. For continuity if something happened to POTUS. Even has a secure situation room type facility at the Naval Observatory
In a hypo where we are going to strike somewhere, doesn’t seem odd at all to have the VP be in the WH. Doesn’t mean he has any input, but he’s being informed at the highest level, which may require a physical presence, etc.
