It seems to me that corporations are siding with the Chinese government against Americans right to free speech. I know the 1st Amendment protects us from our government but what if it’s another country’s government taking away our rights via corporate censorship. This certainly appears to be a long term strategy for the Chinese to curb our rights via corporate control

I can’t speak to corporations, but I’m certainly not.

The Deep State has already used foreign intel to bypass American laws against spying on citizens, so yeah, why not?

Never in my life have I seen so many attacks on free speech as we see now. England is a shite show that we seem to be going to.

The NBA, from here on out, should play the Chinese national anthem before each game.

The Shallow State passed the Patriot Act in front of us.

I guess you forgot that access to Google has been blocked in China since 2012 and more recently also in Hong Kong.

What country has taken away your 1st Amendment rights? Is our government prosecuting you for something you've said?

So then they are not taking away our First Amendment rights?

Please don't confuse the two, I realize you "get it" but you could have just titled your thread:

"Are we OK with China using their economic power to silence US citizens that disagree with them?"

You just confuse the issue by throwing in the words "First Amendment rights"

Our schools and corporations are already enforcing similar speech codes on a smaller scale. Speech that doesn’t conform to the ephemeral narrative makes one an unfit person. Unfit persons must be run out of their careers, alienated by their friends, and separated from their romantic partners, lest shame be placed on all those who continue to support them financially and emotionally.

What is happening in China is already here. It wouldn’t shock me if SJW culture and “woke capitalism” was a Chinese invention forced upon corporations and social media giants as a condition for access to Chinese markets.

Who knew you couldn't go to work and say things that negatively effect your company's bottom line.

Cool.

Now list the rest of the Chinese developed shite that we have access to that the rest of the Chinese populace doesn't have access to.

The difference is EVERYTHING is public now. There are no more “private conversations”. Everything you say is being listened to, recorded, documented, and archived. Anything you say can be twisted, un-contextualized, obfuscated, and picked apart to sound like something offensive to the “woke culture”. If you give them a reason, you will be destroyed.

I called out Steve Kerr on Twitter because he slams Trump on every tweet but stay silent on China in an interview. Next thing I know Twitter sends me a message saying I violated terms and they'll regulate my profile so only my followers see what I post not the public.
