Waitr.....what in the FRICK has happened to them?

I have been using Waitr for over 4 years.....and as of late they have become unbearable! They went from a service that delivered food at a reasonable price and in a timely manner to one that is horrible! What they have become is an expensive service that delivers no service at all. The delivery times have become extremely long and the prices have become ridiculous! The food arrived cold and over an hour and a half late!
Is anyone else having these issues?

Ive never used Waitr or Ubereats or any of the other food delivery services since i’m a controll freak, i prefer to go and pick up my own food to avoid the exact issues you described.

Never used Waitr (don't think we have it). No issues with GrubHub, UberEats or BiteSquad.

They restructured their contracts this year. Most restaurants are getting hosed or decided not to renew.

Why are you paying 5 extra dollars to get McDonald’s when it’s just down the street?

DoorDash is much much better in Lake Chuck

We usually order from restaurants. Wife and I work with no kids. Takes us forever to get home in the evening and we have to be at work for 530AM. Some days we rather just hang out on the sofa and have it delivered instead of fighting the crap. Next thing you know you lost a hour to pick up food

I think it’s hit or miss. We group ordered for lunch and it came in about an hour. Two weeks ago ordered and they driver left one order and a drink. TURKEYDAY19 for free delivery code

No, no they aren’t. Yes, Waitr went up in price but still cheaper than their competitors for the restaurants. They had to restructure because they are still operating at a loss right now.

Go look at their stock price. They are around $20 million market cap.
Six months ago they were over a billion. They have completely imploded.

Waitr was essentially developed here but then proved to be a market tester for the big boys (UberEats, Grubhub, Doordash). But at the last second, they sold a bag of shite to the Houston Rockets owner for $300 mil and now they’re just waiting until they self destruct.
Congrats on keeping a nosediving failure alive a little longer.

Not exactly. Basically Landcadia Holdings and Waitr merged. Waitr was valued at $300M in total considerations but it was mostly all in stock. A total of $50M was paid in cash.
As far as Tilman Fertitta goes, he had the biggest name on the Landcadia ownership but he has all of about $5-7M in it.
