There is a lot of talk about 4D chess from Trump but this is one of the times I can actually see it being true. Republicans were clamoring for Biden and Schiff, etc... to be called on witnesses and Democrats said they were ridiculous. So, now there are stories about the GOP wanting no witnesses and just acquitting immediately only to get the Senate Minority Leader demanding witnesses. Now, the GOP can say, "Ok, you wanted witnesses so here you go" and when the Democrats complain about Schiff and the Biden's being subpoenaed they just have to say that Schumer demanded witnesses.
