It blows my mind that we don’t produce everything we need here in the United States.

I hope so. Certainly, a wide swath of products we need, have to be deemed matters of national security and made here.
Maybe we can import fidget spinners.

We are too spoiled by the lower prices of foreign goods

You will still find globalists that will swear to you that it’s a great thing for us to be dependent on China for most of our medicine.

I hope so.
In my business we have vendor redundancy. One is the preferred but we keep the other online so if one day vendor 1 shits the bed we have a solid 2.
Im amazed these billion dollar companies have all their eggs in one basket like this.

That's just a symptom of the real problem.
Stop electing corrupt "leaders" since 1988 that sell out "We The People".

No we like things cheap and China makes things cheap. The same people that want things made in America also want them for $.99

It shouldn't. Business owners are all about the bottom dollar. You pay someone here $10 bucks an hour to sew t-shirts or pay pennies in a sweat shop?

Absolutely not! once Trump is gone it will be back to business as usual

How many things from China are in your house?
Have you bought American?

Biden loves him some China and the kickbacks

I think so. At least for things vital to US citizens like drugs. We simply can't ignore the fact that when China shut down, we couldn't get test kits because a) they needed them and b) couldn't produce them. A freshman in risk management 101 knows this is a bad idea.

what, specifically, has their manufacturing hurt during this crisis so far?

Corona virus test kits for one

No. But, I'm sure they will get a "china recovery act" through the house with no problem. US taxpayers will probably fit the bill for a nice china recovery package.

Screw Globalism.
Nationalism will keep the U.S. strong.

If we don't learn from this, we deserve what we get.
It's really going to be up to the consumer to demand U.S. made products. We have to get serious.
