Whether assimilated Brit, fake Brit, Ruskie, Leeds scum, Dirty Manc, Spursy Boi, or American here/abroad...

Sign here if you agree that flag and politics talk circling American fans and the USMNT/MLS and US players abroad:

Dbyrd2

I think whether you are participating in the inevitable debate that seems to break out every time, or are watching and shaking your head, it is a run-down, far too oft retreaded topic.

This is the Beautiful Game, not the Political Game. This board is way more fun when we remember that.

I admire what you want, but you realize this thread will turn into exactly what you don't want, right?

I thought this thread was going to be about the soccer board having an intervention for pvilleguru and his sex and whore addiction

I have no idea what this is about, but I would like a certain "British" poster to lead a tactics thread.

Even better a Liverpool fan pointing that out

The Kop literally has flags with players and managers faces on them to resemble soviet Russia

My politics are: frick Villa.

I’d say you too, West Brom, but it feels like I’m bullying a retard.

Yeah I don't get it. You can't really be a Liverpool fan without acknowledging that politics play a part in football. Not to say that you have to shout Labour from the rooftops, but I don't know how you can follow LFC without realizing that your fandom is inexorably linked with politics.

Also, frick Margaret Thatcher.

I just hate seeing the debate constantly. It is old and never goes anywhere. The end of the USA vs El Salvador thread devolved into thin blue line vs rainbow bullshite.

I don’t turn on Liverpool matches for the politics, the same way I don’t support the national team for politics, the same way I don’t come to this board for politics.

I am a fan. I don’t give a damn really if someone wants to make a statement politically. It is their guaranteed right, and that will not be changing even if I don’t agree with their political statement.

Arguing amongst ourselves just seems ignorant to me in a time when there is plenty else to talk about in other forums.

Also, pvilleguru, don’t listen to them man... keep smashing legal prostitutes and smoke all the green you can buy up over in Amsterdam.

Soccer is the most overtly political sport pretty much everywhere but the US. I'm alright with the politics as long as we agree to a couple of things. First, our resident full-kit wanker from Britain leads a tactics thread. Second, we all agree to leave a foot in when playing women in pick-up games as revenge for the USWNT's sundry lies. I think those two are a start to getting this board back to its 2010-2014 period.

Your wear the National Team shirt you stand during the Anthem. You can kneel before or after I don't give a care but you stand for those who gave you the right to wear the shirt!

Those were the days. I remember all new posters created an AMA/introduction thread and Danny Mwanga was our lord and savior. The best of times and the worst of times.

I was one of those posters. So new that I didn't even realize Everton and Liverpool were rivals. Almost chose the wrong side of this thing and relegated myself to endless years of shitty sports with no hope for success again. (See my Texans fanhood. Andre Johnson TYFYS)

Also, I'm FOR leaving the foot in. They are in a man's position on the pitch. They frick around, they can find out.

It was virtually impossible to get into an argument on the board back then. Everyone was cool with everyone else, unless the Rant had a straggler wonder in. Then it was circle the wagons and attack like a rabid pack of wolves.

I joined in 2011 to post pics I took at the gold cup that year since I went to a few of the games. Then I didn’t even bother posting those pics

Still glad to be here with y’all through the good and the bad. This is my favorite Internet forum and the only one I’m really active on.
