Has anyone used Sixt for a car rental, particularly out of DEN? I'm looking at next week and Sixt keeps popping up in my searches and is beating some of the more well known companies like Enterprise, Avis, Budget, Hertz, etc. by a couple hundred dollars total. Pretty big difference.

I've never heard of them though so I'm trying to get feedback from others on this company prior to booking. TIA

I did. Rented a jeep a few summers ago.

no issues at all except for the fact that you have to take a shuttle to and from the Sixt office as its not directly connected to the airport.

Took the T-tops off the jeep and did not put them back on until I brought it back!

I've used Sixt a few places, but not Denver. I never had any trouble. They are offsite, but it was fine. I even had a Sixt employee run into my rented car in their parking lot. They didn't make me do anything at all and I made my flight just fine.

I’m pretty sure every car rental agency at DEN is offsite and you have to take a shuttle to get to their lot. I understand some have offices physically inside the airport but you still have to hop on a shuttle regardless. At least that’s what I’ve experienced.

This is correct in my experience.

Sixt is a german company I believe? I've used them in Europe but never the USA.

Taking a shuttle to the rental car center is the norm at major airports, including DEN.

Not familiar with Sixt. I'm an Emerald Club member with National.

I’ve used Sixt with no negative issues for higher-end vehicle rentals in

Frankfurt, DE
London Heathrow
Dublin
San Jose, CR

Pro Tip: Video your Walk around when you pick up the vehicle.

Surreptitiously, if that’s your style and you maybe can get the rental car employee in the video.

Concentrate on the windshield and the tires & rims.

Good luck.

If your 30 minutes late they charge for a whole extra day. Never had that with any other rental company. May not matter depending on flight times.

I rented from them in Denver. I arrived in the evening and everything abt their operation seemed sketchy to me. From what I recall, their location is not near the other rental car lots. Maybe it’s because I was a female traveling alone, but the shuttle driver was sketchy and he drove me to their lot in the middle of nowhere ... I seriously wondered if he was kidnapping me. Otherwise, the car was fine and there were no issues ... but I still won’t rent from them, especially not in Denver.

Yes, but at some airports, Sixt isn't in the main rental car location and doesn't share the bus with the others. It doesn't appear to be that way in Denver.

I remember my wife and I flying into FLL and our friend rented from Sixt. This was my observation as well, it just seemed sketch.

Since then I have had opportunities to use them and just pass.

Great advice...did the video thing on the Benz we picked up in Frankfurt. Good thing too, upon drop-off/return the 'staff' was overwhelmed and did not do the walk around video/inspection with me. Two weeks later I receive an 1100 Euro bill for 'damages'....called out their bull-shite w/ attatched video....not a peep was heard !
Note: protect yourself people, especially with over seas rentals !

I have used them twice, both times in Europe, but they were fine. No problems.

I'm renting in Denver too. Nothing was cheaper than Costco. I went through Enterprise. I didn't have a Costco membership.. got one just to rent a car.

You can generally status match any status you have with one rental car company to another. Google the company you want to match and apply online.
