Exactly what is the FDA doing re: vaccine approval?

Explain it to me like I’m five years old. All three vaccines are currently approved for emergency use, but haven’t been given final FDA approval. What is the FDA doing (testing, studies, etc.) in the process of making their final decision, and how long should it take?
Also, if you don’t trust the government enough to take the vaccine now, how can you logically take it when it receives final approval from…the government?

I’m pretty sure the FDA doesn’t do shite other than take the data they get from the company and try to validate it and make sure it looks legit. Someone correct me if I’m mistaken.

I don’t think you can bucket all “anti COVID vaccine” people into the “don’t trust government bucket”. Some of it also has to do with not trusting pharma and them not having any liability.

Not taking it. I laugh at people who say the new administration should have said trump created the vaccine and more people would take it. We’re not idiots we know trump made it still not taking it.

Didn't Pfizer just recently apply for full approval?
Like anything with government, it takes multiple i's to be dotted and t's to be crossed.
If you're asking the normal process, I'd imagine a google search would net some results.

They are collecting rubber stamps, to formally rubber stamp the vaccine. It's taking a while so they can make it appear they did something that took a long time to verify that it is safe.

They're making sure the vaccine (that's not a vaccine) kills all conservatives! This experimental gene therapy poison was rushed out so they can finally kill anyone right of Mao and have their prog communist utopia. That's what the FDA is testing it for.

They have had that. It wasnt Until the polarization of both covid and the vaccine, that people want to know "well what happens 3 years down the line????"
If you take something and three months later your levels and your body is still normal, its stupid to think anything that happens to you years down the road is related to that said medicine/vaccine

Typically you have YEARS of studying the effect/side effects of a drug true trials.
Currently we have data for about 10 months (on those in the early administration of vaccine) ... until we have YEARS of data, the FDA wont approve through its normal process
We are basically in an open trial of the Vaccine, and are hoping there are no long term side effects.....

Why do you care so much if others get a gene editing "vaccine"? The mortality rate of covid is <1%, your immune system has no problem with it assuming you aren't old or obese (just like every other virus ever) why the hysteria for this?

Every drug that was ever recalled in this country was first approved by the FDA.
My distrust of the gov't just reinforces my decision. I never get the flu vaccine and I'll probably never get the COVID vaccine. Why? I hate getting shots and have never had either virus and I'm not in any high risk group.
It really unnerves me with the promotional levels that the gov't has taken vaccination. The vaccine protects the recipient from the virus. At that point, why do they give a shite what someone else does? It's like wearing a seat belt or a helmet. Some people just don't want to do it. Leave them alone.

It’s paperwork. FDA has trouble pushing paper from one office to another. Takes a year to push the cart down yonder.
