I've seen some melts calling Trump a homophobe and expressing sympathy at the gay community for this tragic election. The funny thing is that I don't ever remember hTrump holding any anti-gay views. The Clintons on the other hand championed the defense of marriage act. As someone who whole heartily believes in traditional marriage I feel I have more of a connection to Hillary's past than Trump. The country just elected the most pro-gay republican that has ever run for office. Gay marriage is here to stay even if he wasn't Pro-gay. They should be ecstatic today. It just goes to show how a narrative can be so easily bent one way.

Gays are great for property values so I'm sure Trump is all in for gays.

Gay people are no more a monolithic voting bloc than are Presbyterians, Lawyers, or grandparents.
Some are Republicans, some are Dems.
Ignore anyone who tries to tell you "gays" are anti-Trump.

And yet Pence is all in on conversion therapy. I can see where people might be a little concerned.

Yep. Gay marriage isn't going away nor should it. It's about time we started electing people to high office in this country based on shite that matters like the economy and international policy.

made this point on FB a few times today (or asked for specific policies)

the only response was that he's a part of the GOP and "that's enough"

I don't either. The racist one doesn't make much sense either. If people want to blast him for his comments about or to some women, go for it. I'll gladly admit the man can definitely be a dick, but the racist/homophobic rhetoric just has no real backing.

Ask yourself if you ever thought you'd see the Republican nominee doing something like this

Somewhere right now, you'd think Toddy would be on his knees thanking whatever entity he prays to (God, Zeus, Shiva, Flying Spaghetti Monster, whatever) that a band of Hillary's Syrian refugees won't be tossing him bodily off a roof.

Instead, I'd lay money that he's off in his safe space, sulking.

I think the complaint isn't that 'gays are anti-trump'. The complaint is with the false perception that 'trump is anti-gay'. That categorically untrue position is being pushed on Facebook real hard right now, from a wide range of misguided individuals

It's media driven BS. Trump was the most socially-liberal Republican candidate in the field. Hell, he may be the most socially liberal Republican presidential candidate ever.

I'm sure he approaches "gay rights" from a business sense in that it is such a minor issue in the grand scheme of things (maybe 5% of the population is gay, if that), who cares? It's not worth any kind of effort to fight to repeal gay marriage.

If anything, homosexuals are upset because their quest for preferential treatment under the guise of "equality" may be halted, that's it.

It's the left's equivalent of "Obama's coming for our guns!"
