Working against them? They have no more jobs or pensions. I think they see who is working against them.

Yeah,a lot of Union Workers are bucking the corrupt leadership that they have been loyal to.
They see the jobs leaving, and The Union doesn't mean much when all the jobs are drying up.

Why will union workers vote for a party that has tried to destroy the very organizations to which they belong?

Because they have seen their corrupt unions give their dues to a party that DGAF about them.

When Hillionaire crows about putting union people out of work and destroying an industry why the frick would they vote for her?

NEA is definitely in the bag for democrats, but teachers cast their ballot based on their own beliefs.

I was lucky to be teaching in districts that did not mandate membership in the NEA. I never joined, but I knew plenty of members who did vote republican.

a) not all unions are the same. the SEIU and culinary unions will 100% back hillary. this is extremely important in nevada

b) a lot of the union vote already left the dems in PA/MI. Not all of it, but a lot. Union vote is like 60:40 for the dems, but the SEIU is like 90% for the dems and its the largest union. Teacher unions, also huge, are also a lock for the dems.

This, you can no longer just say unions = Democrats.

Teamsters and manufacturing unions should break closer to 50/50.

Service unions will be heavily Clinton.

Teachers are somewhere in the middle They are not as strong of a Dem pull as they used to be. People are realizing that decades of Dem educational policy isn't working. Many new teachers are coming through things TFA and they realize the system is broken, and who is trying to defend the broken system.

It won't be enough to effect this election, but could be interesting in 4-8 years.

Party that passed NAFTA? Have you seen the state of US manufacturing these days. You are going to use "history" as your defense then you better prepare for the worst today.
