Yeah, Florida resident here... politics aside FL is a really well run state. Even Pinellas County (next to Tampa) is insanely well run and has had both D & R leaders. Like, the basic government functions just work really well.

Rick Scott suspended her before DeSantis was even sworn in. DeSantis finished her off and got another one a year or two later.
That plus the changes made after 2000 are why it works.
