It's not a huge deal, but it is frustrating.

Is your real draft an in person draft, or are you still drafting via computer on the same site that you’ve been mocking on?

Yea. I went down a full round to grab Keon Coleman last night relative to his adp in my draft. I believe in the talent and opportunity. Didn’t want to miss what I think could be a top 10 WR.

Thing is, I genuinely feel that way, so why would I risk not grabbing him? Guess the whole point being if you have strong convictions about a guy, go get him.

Brock Bowers went 2.5 rounds ahead of ADP. You sort of have to know your league as well

I think the main issue is that in reality, you are generally going to have a handful of casual FF players that don't prep, don't do any mock drafts, and are really just doing it for fun (at least in my experience). So they're like "Oh, I like Mahommes! I'll take him in the second round since he's still there!"

In mock drafts, those are the guys putting in research and know he SHOULDN'T go that high. But when one casual person grabs Mahommes early, there tends to be a rush to grab the other few top QBs, then the entire draft "strategy" kinda falls apart.

I will say I just play in a couple leagues with friends. So we definitely have some casuals in there. I don't play in 15 leagues where everyone is hardcore into it. Seems like always about half the people really try and the rest just kinda go with the flow.

But I think that's the main reason real drafts tend to "fall apart" on you compared to mock drafts.

It helps you see who will be around in which rounds based on your draft spot, but unless the mocks are setup with the same points settings from your league, not really.

I pay real attention to who makes homer picks as ell as pick based on their favorite teams. It often means that players I want fall to me.....

For example, we have many Saint fans as well a Packer fans. They'll also choose ex-Packers and ex-LSU players. So I keep that in mind.

Just had real draft last night. Did a few mock drafts and outside top 5 picks or so they weren’t close.

All online. I wish I still had some in person drafts.

I never realized it until now but you can go on fantasypros and sync you league to draft against AI's ECR rankings with your league settings. It's not a bad tool.
