Overpass' burger was much better a few years ago. It had tons of flavor and much more fat - you can tell the blend is different in the past 1-1.5 years
Glad it's not just me then. I think the new patty resembles the same lifeless thing they did to Curbside. It just doesn't have the flavor and seems more like a pre-formed patty made in a machine.

Deerman’s doesn’t season their burgers enough. It’s painfully obvious when you compare one to a burger from Raul’s, Akasha, or even Judice Inn and Ben’s.
Curbside and Overpass merchant have definitely changed their patty recipe, and it’s a huge detriment. They used to be my go-to, and now I only go rarely, and I am always disappointed when I do.
Raul’s never disappoints, though.

I must've just missed it. Haven't been in at least a year since having a kid and life hapepening.
From my understanding, the difference between OM and Curbside was Curbside had mass ordered their buns, but ingredients and everything were all the same (both are supplied by the same food distributor).
Things probably changed as the economy has taken a hit. I might have to go to OM soon just to see if these changes are as big as they are. At least their cheese curds should still slap.

I want to like curbside but the patty is the weak link. Dry and flavorless
sadly when I want a burger in BR I go to Freddie’s. At least it has flavor

I think you have to separate the discussion on best burger in BR.
In one group are restaurants that do lots of good items and they have a good burger.
The other group are the ones where the burger is the primary item marketed.
Where the burger is primary, dearmans, goodwood, five guys, riverside... those are all the top options.
Restaurants typically have good burgers, especially steak places and hipster joints like overpass.

I get what you're trying to say, but we're talking just top overall burgers the city has available, not trying to narrow it down to each genre. A burger is a burger.
You can compare a McDonald's Big Mac to an Our Mom's burger because they are burgers, regardless of what each of their primary meals are. OM obviously has more than burgers, but their burgers are consideredly better than a place like McDonald's/Burger King/Wendy's whose backbones are based on hamburgers.
You can objectively rate food based on overall quality. A diner burger is generally not quality, and neither is a steak burger from Freddy's/Steak N Shake, even if they are enjoyable to people. I know people that thing most fast food burgers from chains mentioned above are better than places like Five Guys/Curbside/Burgersmith and that is simply not true in the grand scheme of things.

quote:precovid the size and "quality" of Curbside and Overpass were a but different. Could jus tbe the kitchens style of prep but i got lambasted on here for dogging Curbside and saying i liked Overpass at the time.

and Ill still argue i was right because they were to different quality burgers.
Ill say it again because i dont think i can say it enough... Curbside was a great food truck burger. But its still just a fancy "fast food" burger.

Alright...I will be the one to say but Hooters has an excellent burger.
I also like Riverside Patty
As for fast food burgers...try a Whopper, Jr. with a potato bun (no sesame seeds). 2 for $5...you can't beat it.
Was hoping for a new place to try.

Theres a few topics on this board that some people take pride in eating subpar versions of the food like its some badge of honor. Burgers being one of them
