Not big on vodka based cocktails because I find most vodka cocktails are better when a different base spirit is used. For example a Margarita is better than a Kamikaze, and I prefer a Red Snapper to a Bloody Mary. So, if I was asked what cocktail I think works best with Vodka…a Lemon Drop

Great drink, especially on a hot day. Can’t leave out the sugar rimmed glass though. Garth makes a great one at Clancy’s.

Yep. Often on a hot day I'll mix up a quart of it and keep it in the fridge. Never lasts more than a few days.

A “Come on, baby!” Vodka and root beer. Picked this up from an alcoholic about 30 years ago.

That's a damn good drink. I tried it once after watching reruns of the Larry Sanders show. Artie was always drinking Salty Dogs. It's amazing what a difference the salted rim makes.

It's probably more than a "splash" of grape juice. That said, I like them. But no one else I know really like concord grape juice....so it's often just me drinking them. Good pool drink (and golf, of course)

Two pages and no White Russian?!?!?

It's really the only "vodka drink" I care for, except for a Bloody Mary on Mardi Gras morning or on the morning of the dreaded 11:00 am LSU home football game.

At the top of my vodka cocktail list. I do like a bloody but have to be in the mood for one.

My golf course makes a fine Vodka Transfusion that I've been digging lately. I get an extra shot, of course.

Transfusion:

2 oz Vodka (or 3 or 4)

2 oz ginger ale

1 oz grape juice

1/4 oz lime juice
