If anyone hasn't been to Superica yet, I'd recommend you put it in your rotation.

I am not a huge fan of their food its good but I feel like there is better places. But their margaritas are incredible.
You have to get things like the port shank. If you go for traditional Tex mex stuff you will be disappointed.

I’d like to check out their Asian scene,
If you are trying to go out to Chinatown, any of the mike Tran restaurants are still pretty excessable for gringos and are quite good. Mein for traditional Chinese and Night market for Thai are my favorites
If you are looking for Asian closer to you, Mala in montrose or pepper Twins are my go to.
Pho binh for for pho. Roostar for ba Minh and beer.
Roostar might be more expensive but it’s the best French bread in town. So damn good

Really close to my house and been passing by it. Will have to check it out. Alma Latina just up the road on 22nd very underrated tex-mex spot with great margs.

For Asian in that area try Kim Son it’s on the other side of 59 and Jefferson. Vietnamese and Chinese food.

I did. Had waygu meatballs and pepper and crab bisque to start. Wife had the salmon, which she must have liked since she ate it all, and I was really pleased with the chili crusted redfish with green beans and roasted cauliflower. It was a solid meal. Thanks for the rec.

Sounds great. It’s been a few years since I’ve been but ole baw knows how to put together a meal. His brother is an acquaintance of mine (works for the same company but different location I do) so I’ve been with him a time or two and he pours on the charm with extra apps and desserts. It’s a real good time and food has always been excellent.

Thien An is the best Vietnamese in Midtown.
Wanna Bao in Midtown has pretty good soup dumplings outside of Chinatown.
Mint Thai Kitchen has the best khao soi that I’ve found in town.
Pho Binh is usually recommended as the best pho in Houston, but Les Noodle’s broth is just as good, and conveniently located (at least for me) on Montrose.
Recently being hitting Lua Viet Kitchen on West Alabama due to its proximity to my house and the owners are from New Orleans-more expensive than most run of the mill Vietnamese places, but I’m willing to pay more for good service and decent grub.
