it can’t get to 700 and halfway sear I don’t believe.
As it turns out, I never used my 800 over 300 degrees even though the high heat capability was a selling point for me.

Well, it's over. Needed to do a higher heat cook yesterday and it caught on fire. This has happened before and caused no damage. This fire was too much and the damage is beyond repair. Not sure what my next step is. I may just get a kettle and go back to snake method until something jumps out at me.

Yea that is one drawback to them for sure. I got in the habit of having a cup of water with me for high-heat cooks lol. I have an XT now, but it's having some temp swing issues. I don't have much drive time on it yet.

Between Weber kettles, PK grills, and ceramic cookers. I still haven’t figured out why anyone would need anything else unless they’re cooking large quantities of food at a time. These cookers hold temps easily without electronics and run for hours with little fuel, and they are excellent grills. I guess people just like to try new things, tinker, and enjoy new technology

It’s around that time of year you use to be able to catch them for $200 at Walmart. With all the tariff crap, that may not happen anymore.

I have a 1050 NiB waiting for the day my 800 fails. Love these dang gravity smokers.

Weber Summit Kamado

I’ve had mine for close to five years now and it is amazing to cook on. It can do everything with ease.

Weber Summit Kamado

Saw one used on Pellets and Pits YouTube channel, and it was impressive. He did briskets on three different styles of smokers (pellet, stick, charcoal), including the Summit as the charcoal entry.

He placed lump charcoal and chunks of wood around the inside, snake style. It ran 225 for about 8 hours and used about a double handful or so of fuel. Insanely efficient.

This should be cued to start where he shows the remaining fuel.

love my weber summit kamado, so versatile and can be moved around easier than the much bulkier ceramics
