The "free" buffet at Lauberge ended up costing me a lot of money.

I had a dinner in Lyon at La Mere Brazier with 7 other friends, and grabbed the check of €4200. Frickin wine bottles. Ended up as €525 a person. That was a few years back when it sorta hurt to look at the check. But so worth it.

Two years ago we landed a reservation at the French laundry in Napa. 12 courses, no wine, we upgraded to a wagyu steak and truffle macaroni and cheese. Final bill was over $900. Overall the food was hit or miss but I would murder a man for that steak again.... hands down the greatest piece of meat I will ever experience in life. Wouldn't spend that kind of money again but it was once in a lifetime.

Most expensive was Zuma in Miami, second was French laundry. Both North of $500, that's all I'll say.

Best view in Seattle. Great food. We could have spent about half of that if we had exercised some restraint.

Lunch at Guy Savoy in Paris cost in the $550.00 range but it was an incredible dining experience. Also in Paris we ate at Taillevant, Le Cinq and Le Grand Vefour which were up there. Three to four hour meals at great restaurants is what we choose to spend our money on while we are on vacation.

Just curious how you got the reservation?
And as the other guy noted, I would think wine would be almost required for me if dining at a place like that.

Some place around Tahoe when we went on our honeymoon. I was really young and stupid. Half the menu was market price. I thought at the time that it would be Bush league to ask what the current Mkt price was. So we just ordered a bunch of shite. My entrée alone, the surf and turf, was $100. Ending up dropping a large chunk of my dinner budget for the week on that meal. Good times. .

A little over 200. We ordered an appetizer special that wasn't on the menu and didn't realize it was $50 until we got the check.

My friend and I did a A5 Kobe beef meal in Japan,

That is the only thing that I would consider dropping big bucks on for a meal. Had a great steak dinner at one of the restaurants in the Venetian. I think it was around $350 for the two of us with a few drinks.
Also had a very good meal at Merriman's in Maui. Went for a friend's wedding and his dad picked up the bill for the table of about a dozen people as a thank you for all of us attending. I think it was around $3500 by the time we were done.

~$400 or so at a restaurant in Nashville. Flyte World Dining and Wine. I personally didn't think it was worth it. Food was good, wine was excellent. But not worth the price.

What I don't understand is why people are so secretive about how much they spent or why they won't admit a dollar amount.

My high score is 175ish for an anniversary dinner with a couple of drinks and dessert.

Was that with expensive wine? I thought I remembered doing chef menu there with wine pairings for about $800
