My favorite in Natchez is Roux 61 and in Vicksburg it’s Rusty’s.
Natchez trace is interesting. Plan to fill up with gas before getting on it, as there are no services along the way. Don’t be in a hurry because the speed limit is 50 MPH (don’t go 51 MPH)! There a lots of deer on the trace but be careful, because deer have right of way. If you hit one you have to pay for it!

We’ve taken a liking to Frankie’s on Main in Natchez. It is downtown in an old bank building. Plus quite a few shops for browsing within a block or two of it.

According to TripAdvisor, Frankie’s on Main has an impressive rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on 28 reviews. Customers often praise the restaurant for its excellent service, delicious food, and cozy ambiance. Common highlights include the quality of the meals, particularly the seafood and pasta dishes, and the friendly staff. However, some reviewers have noted that the restaurant can get quite busy during peak hours, which occasionally leads to longer wait times. Overall, Frankie’s on Main is a popular choice for both locals and visitors looking for a great dining experience in Natchez.

Just had lunch at Rusty's. Something appears to have opened in the old Biscuit Company building. Any of you locals know what's happening there? That's a cool old space..

A place called The Biscuit just opened, last week I believe. I haven't been yet, but I hope they do well. You're right, that's a cool building, but restaurants don't seem to do that well there.

I always hit up Key City and Beechwood when I’m in town. The atmosphere at 10
South is much better than the food.

We went up the trace from Natchez to eat here and enjoyed it. Also made an 8-mile side trip from there to Alcorn State University. I like visiting college campuses and wanted to see where Air McNair played. They had guard shacks at each entrance; I asked if we could look around and she waived us on through, though it was summer.
The campus buildings were much nicer than I expected, but the football stadium was pretty sad for such an historic venue. They had a little gas station on campus, which I thought was odd until I realized that Alcorn is in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but woods for miles.
