I'm LSUballs. I will not be joining your diet club at this time. I went to the doctor the other day and weighed in at 262 lbs. I was really suprised cause last time I was 270 something and have made no conscience effort to lose weight. I graduated highschool at 6' 5" 175lbs. Despite gaining the weight equalivent of eating a 7th grader, I've only went from a size 36 jean to a 38 in 14 years. I'm thinking I'll really start watching what I eat when I'm 35 years old. Either that or the day I can no longer dunk a basketball. For now I'm gonna roll with lots of red meat, purple hull peas, Old Charter and whatnot. Good luck to all the dieters, I'll join you shortly.

I'm 48, soon to be 49, I've put on 15 lbs of fat since injuring my back pretty bad last summer, and I'm carrying 210 lbs on a 5'10+ frame. frick a diet. I mix the good with the bad as far as intake is concerned and I'm getting much more active now that my left leg is on fire less often.

Yeah. The smallest sirloin on the menu was 2.5 lbs. I probably ate 10 oz and she ate 6 oz. I took the leftover steak home and weighed it on the food scale. Came out to almost 1.5 lbs exactly.

I made three more meals with that steak. Cut it in half for dinner. Took one quarter and used it in a salad. Took the other quarter and ate it with eggs.

Ever since my change in life style, I've come to really enjoy the flavor of a sirloin.

Tell me about this. I might want to try it. I'll start a thread on here and see. Then maybe on the OT later.

According to MyFitnessPal.com, a serving of red beans & rice with sausage from Picadilly is a whopping 806 calories. However if you make it at home, have a smaller serving, render the sausage, you can likely get it down to about half of that.

these are homemade...some ham, a little bit of sausage. Just about 2 tablespoons of rice.

i think Picadilly gives you a whole piece of sausage....maybe even 2. Could be wrong

I'll prob eat a piece of sausage the equivalent of a thumb.

1/2 cup of cooked rice is 160 calories.

Sausage is about 170 per serving but most people eat way more than a serving worth of meat.

Beans are about 225 per cup.

With two servings of meat it comes to about 760 calories so the Piccadilly info is pretty close.

I just google whatever I am eating along with nutritional information.

I usually check two links since some can be WAY off. If there is a big discrepancy I try a third link and triangulate the info.

fwiw, i bought the "livestrong" app on my iphone and entered what i ate and exercised every day. livestrong (app and website) have pretty much every food you can think of. and if they don't have exactly what you ate, use your imagination and break it down (ie, they don't have sauce picant but i know what's in sauce picant...)

also, you can build recipes and it will give you nutrition per serving.

Really pissed. After a 7 day plateau I had one big meal to try to confuse my metabolism. That resulted in a 2 pound gain which I have not lost 3 days later.

So all I have to show for this damn diet over the last 10 days is a 2 pound gain.

Pissed off!!!
