I love my cutco set. They are probably overpriced but I’ll pay extra to have something with lifetime warranty. I will not buy another kitchen knife for the rest of my life, unless these were to get stolen.

I have the kitchen set, shears, Filet knife, and pocket knife. All legit.

Great knives that keep an incredible edge.

You people are wrapping your egos up in these knives because you or your family have spent money on them and you don’t want to be told that you’ve wasted it.

They are made of inferior steel, with an inferior process, and cost a ridiculous price.

If they were ~$25 each you’d at least be able to make the case that they are good for what you pay. As it is, they are pricing themselves against the worlds best, and as such have no redeeming qualities. If you’ve bought them, you’ve wasted your money. You’ve payed Mercedes money for Kia quality, and now you’re justifying it by pointing out that it still gets you from ‘A’ to ‘B’.

The Ka-Bar is also stamped, made in the same factory, and is one of the more famous and copied knives in existence. Made in the USA and USMC approved.

You are so mad that people don't regret their purchase.

My Wusthof has three cracks in the handle from heavy use and abuse, and I don't think the Germans are going to fix this. I guess I'll take my lumps.

I like the knives. My in-laws always had cutco and started giving us pieces as gifts throughout the years.

We bought the homemaker block and filled it up and have some other kitchen tools.

I have the hunting knife and just got the filet knife, boning knife, and a santoku. I've been satisfied with all of them.

Our salesmen was all about giving deals on the knives and gave me $100 of the last purchase. He was even willing to knock $350 off the ultimate set, but I wasn't ready to get all those knives just yet.

I don't mind paying a little more to support hard-working college kids I know that are selling a good product.

So testimony after testimony about them being overpriced, yet good knives still has you triggered.

Only on the Food Board could a request to get educated on a set of knives turn into a brawl

I have no opinion of the knives, but the real prey in an MLM are the salespeople. I guess we can feel sorry for the people who got suckered in, but I certainly won't support it.

Cutco is part of Vector Marketing, which targets college students desperate for money. Luckily, more people seem to like the actual product than in most other MLMs, but that doesn't make their tactics any less shady.

Every business is MLM to some extent.

Worker bees bust arse so the boss doesn't have to. Cutco isn't a diet pill or wrap. It is a product that has stood the test of time.

Are you saying that cutco does not have these other positions mentioned?

I have some I received as a gift. I have also bought the Victoronix chef knife everyone talked about on here. The Cutco knives are better & I especially like the steak knives. They rip thru anything. The Victornix lost its edge after like 2 uses.

As I said, I can't say anything to the product itself. But predatory sales tactics, hiring tactics, shady interview processes where you practically hold people hostage, forcing employees to purchase product in order to sell it.. I just can't support it.

There are plenty of reasons someone can choose not to support a company.

There was a huge thread on pyramid schemes on the OT last week.

Every MLM has people doing their marketing materials, website, shipping, etc. But Cutco, and other MLMs, specifically target people to sell, for people to sell under them, and under them, and so on.

The small % at the top is not what anyone is referencing when they are talking about the real shady aspects of an MLM.

Any salesperson worth their salt wouldn't work somewhere that just took on more and more sales people with zero limit because they wouldn't make any money. The market would be saturated.

It's a sales job. It works almost like any shitty sales branch. The managers are just salesmen that have to drive their sales teams and get paid off production.

They're a little different than the sham predatory MLMs. Their focus/payment is still the product versus the recruitment of more salesmen. 50% commission on sales is much better than having to buy expensive starter kits to even begin to sale.

The kid I use, I've known since he was 16 and he has earned 3 or 4 scholarships through cutco on top of the commissions.

A co-worker is into one of the shitty nutritional supplement schemes. Anyone with basic science knowledge can debunk all the crap they say.
