I hope your restaurant is going well, Phil. Congrats on the star.

No, but I've only heard good things. Would love to go.

definitely not Phillip. I doubt he needs to come to TD to get his name out there.

I did end up snagging a reservation last night. It was excellent

Certainly helped, but it was Tony or Tom talking about it that made me want to go

Everything from the moment you walk in to the attention to detail and precision with each course.

For the most part, they didn’t try to overly complicate the dishes, just sourced the best products possible and expressed them in beautiful ways.

The most surprising to me was the jellyfish course. I was not expecting the texture to have a crunch.

It’s a set menu right?

What was the total bill? For 2 people?

It is, but they ask dietary or preferences and will adjust accordingly.

My bill just for me was a little north of $400 ($195 for the food, $125 for the sake pairing, had one additional japanese whiskey then tax and tip). There are also additional offerings if 22 courses isn't enough, apparently the record is 101 courses. That's the champ champ. Wasn't attempting to even touch that record

Did you get full? Last time I had one of those expensive prix fixe menu dinners I had to stop by Jack in the box on the way home to get full.

Opposite end of the omakase spectrum- Tancho. Near Carve on SW Pkwy. Great quality fish, no frills, no reservations. Was really good and very basic, no blowtorches. Really enjoyed it and, best of all, very affordable considering the quality. Lunchtime was $34 for the basic meal. Was plenty for me. Step it up to the grand omakase for something like $54.

I’ve been to Otoko, the Uchi’s, etc. they’re all great but an option with top quality for a reasonable price is nice to have.

Each course is roughly 1oz. It was 22 courses, 4 aperitifs, 16 sushi courses and 2 dessert courses.

If you aren’t full after nearly 1.5lbs of food, the restaurant isn’t the problem
