Oh, okay. I misread your explosive response to one person's innocuous, humorous thread about you frequenting chain restaurants, and assumed you could only be so defensively offended if the accusations were true. I'll be sure to make note of this correction in my book of posters' personalities I'm working on.

While you are sitting in that hip old Metairie cosmopolitan institution called Mark Twain's Pizza. Perhaps a nightcap at The Galley. Buy a life listmaker.

I used to eat at the one in the warehouse dist....don't even know if it's still open...but it was IMHO the best true Mexican food I have ever eaten...it would be #1 on my list...even though it was cash only.

Serrano's

I think Serrano's is kind of junk. I don't mind the occasional drink there, but the food is terrible...imho. If it wasn't so close to the Chimes and campus, I really don't think it would be open.

Come on, dude. I like Pancho's, but no way should it be #1 or even close to it. And Serranos just plain sucks.

Superior Shreveport > New Orleans > Bham > BR

the best place that i have been to b far is Trejos and its offshoot El Tio. They are the prime example of what real Tex mex is.

and I would much rather go to a crappy Serranos than the best Panchos because panchos sucks. Taco bell has ten times better food than panchos.

Superior Shreveport

Went there a couple times this summer, and I wasn't impressed. The folks I was with said the quality has gone down.

Well the quality of alot of good restaurants go down when it becomes popular(if it isnt run right) It just isnt worth its price now. But still the one is shreveport is better. you can even tell the difference in the presentation of the food. For example, the puffy taco plate at the one in shreveport is over flowing with cheese. the one in br and barely enough to fill the taco.

Yeah, the Superior Nachos in NOLA are loaded whereas the ones in BR barely have enough toppings to cover half the chip. It's pathetic. Plus the queso in BR sucks as opposed to the one in NOLA

Serranos is weak. The food is bland and the portions are small. It's a fun place to get a drink though.

The only good Ninfas is the original on Navigation in Houston. Ninfas as a chain has gone downhill.

Casa Garcia sucks nuts.

La Caretta is the best food

Superior has the most potent margaritas, so after two they have the best food then.

I don't really care for Mexican... but I will say that my "Best Salsa" vote goes to Chevy's. I also used to like Cuco's in Houma...

LOL, that has got to be a joke, right? That is not mexican, it's tex-mex, and it is not even close to authentic tex-mex at that.

Margaritas is the main reason I eat at mexican restaurants. A couple of margaritas and some chips and salsa and I'm good to go.

authentic tex-mex

I'm not defending Pancho's, infact anyone who admits to eating there will be taken down a notch in my book, but how can Tex-Mex be authentic if it's just a sorry bastardization of Mexican food?

An authentic poser?
