If I'm eating at Lakeside Mall, it's gonna be Cheesecake Factory all the way, baby. Where else can you get meat loaf with a side a salmon and a slab of cherry cheesecake? P.F. Chang's f*cking wishes.

You'd see Saints players dining there, everybody would be dressed up. It was the highlight of a Friday or Saturday night, and you'd wait up to an hour for a table.
Did you ever go to a chili’s in Baton Rouge or New Orleans around the same era? I remember when the Chili’s on Siegen first opened circa 2003 it was jammed packed with well over one hour waits on weekends. Same with the college drive chili’s in Baton Rouge in late 90’s. You’d always have the one hour plus wait for a table. Went a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years on a Friday night and had zero wait and place was middle of the road full. Nowhere near packed.

J. Alexander’s.
Absolutely love J Alexander's......Outback on Jones Creek has gone from pretty good when they 1st opened, to decent, to not very good, and now to absolute crap. The employees and the customers even looked scary.

I think J. Alexander’s is great. I don’t go there nearly as often as I should. Great grilled fish and their salads are awesome.

But the Pf Chang's in Birmingham still had a decent wait staff and clientele last time I was in there a few years ago. Food wasn't that great.

They make 15.00 hr no matter what in Portland right? What do they care how your experience is.
They still make tips.
I would attribute it to being there at the end of the night. Food quality is lower at the end of the night, and all of the help is looking to go home, so service takes a dive, too.
I waited on tables at the Baton Rouge TGI Fridays in college, and the college students usually wanted to get off earlier - work the peak hours and then get the hell out, so they can go party for a bit, study for finals, or whatever. Once the crowd dies down a bit and they started letting servers go home, a lot of the young ones would leave. So many of the hot, young waitresses weren't around after peak rush hours.

The food and service were still good at the one in Huntsville, but like you it's been several years since I've been there. It's located in Bridge Street, and as far as i know that hasn't been taken over by culcha so I'd imagine it's still pretty good.

P.F. Chang’s in Ridgeland isn’t terrible but the best chain I’ve ever eaten at is Bonefish Grill. That place is awesome for a chain and have fantastic service

That last time I ate at Changs the floors and table tops were so greasy and the food so salty that I vowed to never eat there again.
It's really sad, but PF Changs is simply bad Chinese food for people that really don't like Chinese food.

If the Millennials are abandoning chains, I'm way ahead of them. For me they fill one need, I'm traveling, I don't have time to search out something good, I know what to expect at a Newk's, Cane's or Whataburger.
Last time we went to PF Changs in BR we were meeting some of my wife's friends. I noticed the clientele was mostly female, not a bad thing, it had 3 factors they tend to make it a chick joint, high prices, small portions and kitschy decor, see Panera Bread, la Madeleine, etc..
If I want Chinese I want Omi, low prices, nice portions, no decor and heavily frequented by the ethnic group it represents, do you see many Asians at PF Changs?
There you go.

la Madeline is awesome. I wouldn’t put it in the same category as Panera and PF Chang’s.
Posted on 10/2/19 at 10:04 am to Paul Allen
Yeah, I love La Madeleine too. No other restaurant in town has a Caesar salad or tomato soup that comes remotely close.

Look at the manager of a place that falls so low. Therein lies the problem.
