You really cannot beat a french press. I dont care what contraption you throw out there, french press is simply the best method for making "real coffee".

This. But if you're too lazy to use the press, a percolator is the way to go.

We use a Keurig for coffee, the nespresso for espresso & lattes, or the old Toddy for iced coffee.

I like to make Americanos with mine. I've also got a milk frother and heat some milk and make foam sometimes. Good stuff

We grind our own beans and use a Bunn. Its 20x better than the coffee at work.
Thats right.. I complain about the coffee and I dont make it.
The only other coffee that can compare is out of the stovetop deal that was pictured earlier. We use this at the camp and it is DE LISH.
Also, CC New Orleans Blend is a big hit at the restaurant where i work.

My wife is buying a French press for my b'day. How long does it take to make 4 cups (4 real cups, not those 6 oz things) compared to a drip?
Any recs?

I microwave the water for 4 minutes, and brew for 4-5. Bodum makes a stainless steel model that is double-wall insulated. You can get it at starbucks retail locations for ~$50. I think it's the best deal on a good press.

Toddy Maker. Cold brew system. It makes a cold coffee syrup that you add hot water to. It makes excellent and is as fast as instant.
