It seems like the bourbon market is opening up.

I saw EH Taylor on a shelf here in Rapid City for the first time ever. $60.

They also had Buffalo Trace on the shelf, first time i have seen that in 5 years. $38

Still no Weller of any type, even the green bottles. But I have my fingers crossed.

Buffalo Trace for $38 is crazy if EHT is $60. BT is a $22 bottle here

Barrell is releasing a cigar blend soon, with bourbons ranging from 7.5-18 years finished in Madeira, Armagnac, Rum, and Hungarian oak casks.

Definitely something I’m interested in.

I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ever tried from barrell. I noticed a barrell decade in my local store today. 20yr blend, 142.5 proof, $199. I couldn’t justify that though.

Barrell loves that old Dickle. I have one Barrell bottle with that old Dickle and that’s all I taste. It’s not for me. Not sure if they put it in for marketing purposes but I don’t like it. I love Seagrass and their Double Foundation.

The 18 year in the cigar blend is MGP, the Dickel is only 15 years in that one

I don’t mind Dickel in some of their blends, but it’s overpowering in others. I would guess it won’t be too overpowering with the 4 finishes in the cigar blend.

Glad to know it’s MGP. Their finished products are great. I’ll have to give the cigar blend a shot if it’s below $150.

Oddly enough I can't find the 750ml of Buffalo Trace here anymore, but I see the 1.5L handles of it for $45 or so all over the place.

If any of you have had Sazerac and thought it was average at best, give the 100 and/or 125 a go. The 100 in the bigger bottle is a great value for old fashionds, and the 125 is a fantastic sipper.
