I don't hide it, but I don't really bring it up in conversation either.

CDC and I have had some nerdy discussions, my friends aren't closed minded idiots so they don't care. As for SOs watching while I game, I've had a few sit down and watch but they usually ask too many questions about what is going on. I can't watch people play because I find flaws in how they play

Most people are incognizant of the fact that they are gamers.
Ask an individual who frequently plays games on their iPhone or iPad (but not on a PC or console) if they play video games...
I imagine most would answer, "no".

Not only have I gamed around my wife, I've played COD. Online. With a headset. Drunk. That's about as deep as it gets for me. She just laughed at the stupid shite I said to random strangers and went about her Pinterest stuff.

Hell a lot of people who only play COD and sports games don't consider themselves gamers. Most avoid the enjoyment of better games because of the "nerd" stigmatism.

i don't go telling people i work with or party with I game a couple hours a week.
but my IRL friends usually game in some sort or fashion, maybe not as frequent as I tho.
and for the ladies, they just have to understand I'm a computer geek by nature, so that's part of the territory.
