I dont understand patches. Last year i liked the game better day 1 also. Spend that time adding a new actual wrinkle, a mode, a celebration, or make the change optional i dont know. I still love the game but not a fan of the tinkering

Can’t really answer without knowing the pass play you’re talking about.
If it’s an RPO alert, you have to throw it almost immediately.
If it’s an RPO read, you can pull the ball with the qb take a few steps and then throw.
If it’s an RPO glance, the mesh should be slightly slower than other RPO’s which gives you more time.

The last patch ruined the game for me.
When was the patch? I did notice that I went from running the ball pretty well with a few hundred yard games to struggle to break 60 yards the last 4 games. And my wide outs went from being my lead receivers to never being open. Now my tight end and slot get all the receptions. Also noticed CPU line is much better at stopping my edge rushers.

Bama is 2-7 in my dynasty. So glorious.
I started out 2-3 and now 7-3 with 2 to go.

Running slowed down a lot, cover 3 match seems to be eating up my shotgun run plays.
I do like how the cpu will adjust to your play though, early in the year I was killing them on out routes now they take those away so I hit them with slants

This may have been brought up already but there is a play in LSU that puts a guy in motion and he gets stopped by the TE off line. Takes a delay each time its picked. I can't seem to remember the play as to not pick it.

You went 14-2 with Kent State and now you want to drop difficulty??
I just went 9-3 with Kansas in All American and I think that was better than what I should have done. You will be undefeated if you drop to All American.
That guy probably also resets a week if he loses out on a recruit he wants

I’m just not sure that RPOs are meant for long developing routes.
They’re not, that guy has no clue what he’s talking about

yeah...the RPO is such a huge part of my general offensive plan, particularly bubbles, screens, outs, and flats. In real life, if you try to throw deep the same thing is going to happen as what is happening to him...your OL will get called. It's meant to be fast and quick.
If you want to throw deep then call a playaction with similar pass trees. That's how it would happen in real life. I feel like the video game actually got this spot on.

Yep. You can call them, but usually your OL won't hold their water long enough. Same happens in the game. I've called some of them and been able to get the deep ball off, but it doesn't happen often, nor should it. The RPO deep shot is a very high risk high reward play.

Finally learned that if you want to pass on RPOs, you have to hit that receivers button before faking the handoff.
That’s just on some plays. I’ve been holding X to pull the ball the hold time not realizing the running back was X.
It’s different in some RPOs. You can pull the ball on some RPOs. Can’t on others. Not sure what the difference is though.

7th summarized it well up above:
Basically, the read operates like your normal read option plays, but with a passing option
The Alert is basically a run play that if you have a mismatch outside, you make the "alert" read and throw immediately.
The glance is a little more your RPO play action almost, but you still have to make the throw before the handoff animation completes. Point of this one is to suck the defense in with the longer mesh, and see if you get a look you want, throw it if you do. If they stay back, then hand it off.

I went 14-2 because the MAC is easy and I didn’t play a tough OOC game on the road. I hate winning games 17-14 but it’s the only way, even on All American mode. The problem is my best receivers and TE transferred out. My downfield passing game is shot.
I'm the opposite. Just beat Tennessee on my Dynasty with Arkansas and won 17-13. Lost to Notre dame 20-17.
I like it. Makes it feel more realistic

I'll have to confirm the RPO type, but the play has a post route. There's a similar variation of the play that has ONLY the post route if I'm not mistaken ( I believe it fakes a bubble screen on the opposite side.)

The shallow posts and slants aren't too hard to avoid getting it called. The fade and wheel routes are the ones that I get it called on more often than not, but that is usually how it is anyways. On the posts, you just generally can't wait until they are at the top of the route, its one you need to generally get out quick as they are making their break.

Is there any reason when I start a fresh game that all my first string receivers are on the bench?
I have to actively change it every single game

I'm still getting illegal man downfield calls. I'm literally throwing it as soon as I can once the ball is pulled from RB.
Watching the replays, the linemen are basically sprinting downfield
It's only a couple of plays fortunately.
ETA: Also, why does the game just randomly change my play calling screen? I'll be operating from "favorites" then arbitrarily during random hurry ups, it'll change it to some random formation's plays? Game just does shite when it wants to

I feel the same way but you have to remember, most guys that post here don't actually want a realistic simulation of football.

Yeah, I like to throw bombs and beat the ever living shite out of the CPU.
I never play online due the random bullshite that could occur.

I’m conflicted on online. So many gay cheesing players that would piss me off, but I do like the idea of shutting one down causing a meltdown. It would be preferable if it was one of the loser streamers.
But I also just want to enjoy building up a New Mexico and beat the cpu up
