It seems to me that week 3 to week 4 is when the game "turns over" the roster and everyone moves up a year and possibly that affects it? Even if there were only 2 players, now that they are a year older it messes with the deal breaker?

I think they tweaked something with the school grades/dealbreakers.
I noticed my championship contender grade went from an A+ down to a B+. Although I won the natty last year and ranked top 5 currently seems weird.
I did notice it takes into account the amount of 4/5 stars on your roster so I assume that is it but it’s odd how I was an A+ to start the year and week 2/3 I go down to B+ out of nowhere

The blue chip ratio plays a big part in the equation but I was playing as Alabama in year two, and got the number 1 recruiting class with 10 top transfers and I was still only a B+.

I stopped recruiting safeties for the most part. I either switch a CB to S or recruit transfers. I run man coverage too much to have a safety slower than my LBs.

Similarly, I haven't been able to find good SS recruits either, but I find a ton of fast FS recruits that I'll convert to SS. Otherwise I do what you suggest and convert CBs to safeties.
In a rare occurrence, I found an athlete recruit that was 6'1" 235 lb that rated the highest as a SS. He has been a day 1 starter for me and is absolutely blowing people up across the middle of the field. He also has 92 speed. He's basically a modern day Ken Swilling

Is this game as good as 25? I havent picked it up yet been playing other things but from what I have seen people talking about it sounds like it is a downgrade somewhat?

It's a significant step forward in my opinion. Everyone else is welcome to their own, but I take their opinions with a huge grain of salt. To me they are a part of the same crowd who bash every single sports game that comes out on an annual basis.
I'm also one that doesn't get bent out of shape over bugs. When they happen I laugh and move on.

I agree. It has its quirks just like every other game but the updates have been great for the most part.
My only complaint is I can’t get an offer to be the HC of Akron/Kennesaw St/San Jose St after winning the natty multiple years in a row.

In my single player dynasty, I commandeered Buster Faulkner's likeness rather than creating my own.
2 seasons at Ga Tech - 1 playoff season.
Took the HC job at South Carolina - stayed 4 or 5 seasons, recruited a 5-star qb, made the playoffs in my final season.
Took the Notre Dame HC job. Got my team ratings up to 99/99/99 but have struggled in the playoffs. Out in the first game 3 years in a row. Finally won a national championship.
I play on Heisman and try to run legitimate offensive schemes and don't spam plays that I know will work. I've been pleased with how tough it's been on me to actually get that national championship playing withing the parameters that I created for myself. In 25 it was much easier. I've had an instance here or there where the game screwed me over...for instance I snapped the ball with 6 seconds to go and a timeout in my pocket to better position myself in the middle of the field for a FG to send the game to OT. Ran QB power but he somehow got caught in an animation where he was stuck on the arse of an OL and I couldn't get him to slide or dive, and the clock ran out. But overall the games have felt pretty fair.
A new bug has emerged that is irritating me though. Yea I like how the update stated that they made an improvement on the blocking yet the blocking is still complete dog arse. Multiple times already in the game I’m playing currently where at least two of my Olinemen just stand there with their head up their arse and watch the Dlineman go right by them without even touching them.
So then I get pissed and replay to see which lineman did that and then I bench his arse

Once you get ceo and get 8 visits it makes recruiting easier.
They made recruiting much harder this year, I’ve had to go to switching up between house and pitches. Once I let them iron out more bugs I’m start my dynasty with a small team
And build them. It’s taken back to back national titles and having CEO unlocked to get Texas Tech to a top 5 class. I’ve also had multiple guys im leading on and all of a sudden lose them, that was never happening before.

Why would you want recruiting easier when you are already unrealistically winning back to backs with Texas Tech?
