Granted I am not a great gamer these days, but there are still some difficult parts of dark ages for me so far.

The cyber demons are tough, especially in those sections where there is a shielded boss that requires you to kill all the demons around him first to lower the shields

Cyber is tough at first but his pattern is very learnable and repeatable

That's my biggest issue with the parrying for heavies, they all just spam the same combo so its easy to memorize it. Komodo was probably trickiest to learn but he was still easy after a few times

Beat the first 2 levels of Eternal (including the Slayer Gate ) on Ultra Nightmare last night. What a rush

Everyone says levels 1-4 are the hardest since you don't have all your gear yet, so I'm hoping to make it through. Apparently Cultist Base is the hardest level of the whole run so I'm nervous

Speaking of Master Levels the Doom Twitter posted what seems to be a teaser a few days ago, it's the church in the village with sorta ominous glowing inside. There's nothing official, but the general public consensus speculation is that it could very well be a teaser for the first master level for the Dark Ages.

Ya the parry focus combat gets boring the fastest for sure. Ill still try the master levels when they come though.

It’s too easy imo
Even the cyberdemons.

The cyber demons are actually amongst the easiest enemies because their pattern is so predictable. The more parryable attacks an enemy has the easier they are in general.

Yeah, it’s the least “doom” feeling doom out of all of them. It’s fun don’t get me wrong, it’s just eternal, I played for years after release.

Yep. I did find myself getting a little bored towards the end. Glad I played it but I'll be awaiting their return to more fluid motion like Doom 2016 and Eternal.

So I picked this up last week because I needed a change of pace from the slower paced RPGs which is all I normally play. Haven’t played a FPS in forever and have never played DOOM. I’m enjoying the shite out of it. Playing on nightmare mode and was cruising pretty good until I hit stage 8 last night which is the “Abyssmal Forest” and I’m all of a sudden getting absolutely wrecked. Idk if this stage takes a steep difficulty spike or if I’m not using the weapons how they’re intended but I need to figure something out.

Awesome game though but I don’t see how anybody could play this hours at a time. I can do 2 stages in 1 sit down max then I need to take a break and let my nerves settle . From all the replies it seems this is the worst of the 3 so may pick up 2016 and eternal after

Finally got through it today. Figured out playing agressive is the way to go. Pussy footing around and trying to hide behind shite gets you killed. Better to just jump into the thick of it and start slaughtering shite then jump back out and kill fodder demons to refill health. Also the shield throw to stun the flying demons that shoot skulls is key. Those frickers have been the most annoying for me so far. Once they break your shield with the white skulls they fire off a green skull missile that’s a 1 shot kill

This is definitely true and by design. Killing enemies is the best way to get health drops as you take damage. Your best bet to stay alive is to keep killing things.

I'm annoyed they are taking so long to deliver any master levels. They said they were coming and you don't think it would be that difficult since you are just reusing existing levels and just making them really difficult.

The gameplay is radically different. In TDA you are a tank. In Eternal you are a fighter jet. I enjoy both styles of play.

If Dark Ages has you feeling this way, Eternal will have you on life support

Same. That is a great way to describe the two different styles

Finished up the other day. Got 100% on nightmare and just 2 trophies shy of the platinum. Didn’t feel like maxing every weapon. Really enjoyed it and never gave up on nightmare even tho some parts took me awhile. Ended at 35 hours all said and done

Had a great time with it even though the story is kinda off the rails. Cthulu, wtf . Thought the ending boss fights were really well done and the end levels were some of the best. May visit the others down the road but for now I’m ready for my chill RPGs again
