Both are masterpieces.
If you are laid up due to some type of procedure and don’t want stress is probably go with rdr2
ER can be frustrating

So I'm going to be laid up for a month or two.
Should I get Red Dead Redemption 2 or Elden Ring?
I would probably play both if I was in a similar scenario of being laid up for a couple of months. For RDR2 you have to make sure you set aside a few hours to slog through the intro shite

was about to give up on this guy but then it all came together

That fight is so chaotic.
It was on par w/ Melania for me, but more fun. Melania is hard because Waterfowl Dance is unfair. Mohg is hard because he fills the room with bullshite, but you can learn to avoid it.

Yeah for me it was just about realizing I had to tail it to the opposite side of the room every time he’d fill one side up with bloodflame

Saw ER was on sale on Steam and went to buy it. Saw reviews saying that it doesn’t have ultrawide support. Changed my mind.
What is it with this game and almost intentionally being antagonistic towards PC gamers?

I saw that, but I also saw multiple forum posts over the last year of updates seeming to intentionally break UW support. The fact that that mod has to also remove the fake black bars the game adds over the screen is indicative of the kind of nonsense that Fallout 4 used to do.

I put 300 hours into this game on PC and never had a single issue.

Santa is bringing my family (ie my son and I) a PS5 and I have this game sitting in my stocking as we speak. I am blasting through a replay of Bloodborne in preparation. Anything I need to know? Mechanics the same with the PS5 controller? Can I look forward to hours of frustration along with the occasional falling off of a cliff losing hard earned shite? Most importantly should I temper expectations or can I stay pumped?
Merry Christmas!

It’s awesome. Y’all will enjoy.
Didn’t play bloodborne but what from what I’ve read, Er is probably slower and easier. But far bigger and with far more build varieties.
This game has a jump button too
The first few hours are slow and tough. Be prepared for frustration in the very beginning

The bosses in this game range from insultingly simple to rage inducing pain.
Stay pumped.
It can be as fast or slow as you want it.
If you want a BB-like game, it can be just that. Use the weapon arts Quick Step or Bloodhound Step.
Strap in. It's a journey unlike many others. I haven't felt the wonder and pure sense of exhilaration from exploring like i did in ER since I was a child playing Zelda.
