The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course - Heaven on earth
Whistling Straits - don't miss the fairway
Blackwolf Run - Fantastic layout, perfect condition
Cog Hill Dubsdread
For anyone curious, the 1st course is in Alberta Canada close to Lake Louise. The layout of that course was pretty decent but the scenery and ambience catapults it to GOAT status. That's where you play golf when you die and go to heaven.

I’ve heard mixed reviews on Pebble. I played it for the first time the week before the Pro-Am this year and really loved it. I understand that five or six holes are kind of non-descript, but the stretch from 4-11 really is “that good” to me.
Was fortunate to play Cypress Point the day before. That was an unbelievable experience. The course was obviously first class, and our caddie had stories for days.
I also love Cabo del Sol’s Ocean Course.
Can’t wait to get to Streamsong in August.

Appreciate the responses, everyone. Really beautiful places. Since I've started to play golf, I've now started to rethink my vacation ideas in the future.

Even people in the south don't mention this club because it's pretty unknown. Those lists are a joke. Isn't Congaree absent from that list?
I have some friends who’ve played it who said it’s insane. For me I’ve played I’d say....
Ballyneal
Calusa Pines
Arcadia Bluffs
Bay Harbor-Michigan
Dunes Club - #1 9 hole course in the country
Lost Dunes
These are at the top of my list in no particular order, each have their own style, shape, and conditions that are immaculate for their areas that fit the profile they seek. A few are way more exclusive and unknown more than others who broadcast their ratings as well looking for Golf Digest status.

Just read up on this course since I’ve never heard of it.

My one longshot goal in life is to be a national member at a club like Alotian, Burning Tree, LACC, etc. I've been able to play at some sick tracks like Southern Hills, LACC, Riv and it's just such a great experience every time

My current top-10 would be something like
Calusa Pines
Pasatiempo
Sweetens Cove
Fallen Oak
The Broadmoor-East
Barton Creek Fazio Canyons
Black Wolf Run-Meadow Highlands
Paiute Wolf
Torrey Pines South (I guess)
Grand View Lodge (MN)-Best Bent Greens I’ve ever seen

The best courses I've played have been mentioned in this thread and aren't that impressive...Ocean Course at Kiawah and Cog Hill Dubsdread. I'm pretty jealous that a lot of you have been to some of these awesome places. However, my ideal golf destination hasn't been mentioned yet.
IMO, the mecca of golf in the US is Long Island. Having world class golden age golf courses like The National, Shinnecock, and Southampton all literally next door to each other is incredible. Then you throw in places like Sebonack, Friar's Head, Piping Rock, Bethpage, and Fisher's Island, just to name a few; and for my money, there might not be a better golf destination in the world. Admittedly, I'm biased towards Macdonald/Raynor designs, but one day I hope to spend a week just hanging out on Long Island playing all of these.

My dad played Shinnecock, said it was absolutely impossible but awesome.
My dream courses are Oakmont, the country club (Brookline the granddaddy of them all), Seminole, and Pine Valley.
But you are right, Long Island has all the historic tracks.

I agree. It's not really close. If you told me I could play National Golf Links, Fisher's Island, Friar's Head and Shinnecock but no other course ever again, I'd probably take it. Although, I really really want to play Chicago Golf Club

I’m playing #4 this weekend. Excited about it. I’ve played #2 before and even that was really fun.

Have played there as well. Liked it but wasn’t blown away. Western Michigan seriously has a never ending slew of great courses, though.
