Exactly as planned. Get a huge payday to protect his family (recall his knee/possible career ending injuries) and then go back to PGA tour. Good for him. Hopefully more great players will follow him.

I imagine they will still enforce the 1 year suspension since his last LIV event (which was August 2025). He’ll be back on PGA Tour next fall or by 2027

If I were the PGA Tour, I would not enforce a one-year ban. If the goal is to enhance the product and make it more competitive, it doesn’t make sense to force a top player to sit out for a year, lose competitive sharpness, and fall further behind in world ranking points. Instead, I would allow the player to compete on the PGA Tour but be ineligible for the FedEx Cup for one year. This way, the player can still compete and earn world ranking points.

I was looking into this & I think Brooks just has his eyes set on the Majors this year, specifically the US Open at Shinnecock in June (where he won in 2018).

Probably didn’t like all the international events leading up to that & wanted to do his own prep. Would be nice to see him at The Players if he’s not banned

The biggest advantage of the suspension is the deterrent for current players to leave. If they allow Koepka back immediately, the next step will be for a player to take a check to play in one LIV event then come back.

The last few years have proven to us that the PGA tour is bigger than 1 or 2 players. I don't think the benefit of getting a declining Koepka (who has never really cared about tour events anyway) this season is outweighed by the benefits of keeping the path they have been on.

Now, if Rahm or Dechambeau were looking to come back, maybe you change the rules to potentially kill LIV altogether.

Rory made his opinion known & he also wouldn’t mind Brooks playing in TGL

This right here. Anyone that leaves, must have to earn their card back to get back to tour status.

Yeah but I believe Koepka has a 5 year exemption for winning the 2023 PGA Championship

I think the Tour would also expose itself to lawsuits by other players currently serving or who have previously served one year suspensions for things as petty as participating in a loosely LIV sponsored YouTube video.

Even more ridiculous, Pat Perez has to serve a 1 year ban (for Champions Tour) for simply being on the LIV Golf broadcast.

He hasn’t played in a LIV event since 2024

He’s lucky it wasn’t a lifetime ban IMO. I think the players that left for LIV knew a lot of the consequences when they left.

Of course they did and of course he did.

And Perez didn't simply broadcast for LIV League, he was one of the first PGA players to leave for LIV, he disparaged the PGA Tour when he left, and he sued the Tour.

But imagine even caring that Perez has to serve some sort of a suspension before he can try to play on the Champions Tour. No golf fan is yearning to see Pat Perez return to competitive golf. Perez isn't a "has been," he's a "never was."
