Absolutely.
Phil cut his nose off to spite his face. He was great in the announcing booth and honestly could have filled the Johnny Miller role.
And I’m sure he could continue to pull in endorsement money.

Phil can still salvage his image from all this by just admitting he fricked up and should have never gotten involved with the SGL. He can then say he is going to continue to lobby for the players in the PGA, etc, etc.

Exactly this. He needs a ton of money and needs it quick. The Tour isn't the mechanism so he's all in with the Saudis.
This statement says nothing about the Tour and attempts to make amends with the Saudis.
The only logical explanation is he's in deep money trouble and he needs his fix.
