Why don’t you compare liv to the other golf league regarding how losing status/open system and relegation works? Maybe im crazy but that seems like a better comparison than soccer

You laughed and called LIV a laughing stock for relegating 11 percent. Premier league relegated 15 percent.

I’ll ask you. What is the correct percentage?

Also. What percentage of PGA players get relegated to Korn Ferry??

Do you realize just how stupid this is?

Every year are there 1,000s of new soccer clubs trying to break into premier league? No. The comparable is assine to compare golf and soccer here

Looking like it will be Stenson vs Poulter for final relegation

Rahm looking like he’s going to win season long individual championship & maybe win today. Munoz can still pass him up

Wonder if they really drop them?

Yes they’re absolutely enforcing relegation this year with the OWGR application.

Rahm dominating today with a final round 60 to win the tournament plus the $18M individual championship

So they are going to drop someone they are paying under contract?

What is Henrik Stenson’s contract?

He could still be a non-playing captain.

Munoz drains the birdie on 18 to force a playoff with Rahm

Tyrell Hatton on the 14th tee box with I’m a little teapot playing. I can’t imagine a world where a pga tour player is on the 14th hole of a final round and I’m a little teapot comes on and the player starts giggling.

Just so weird to me.

Munoz wins with a birdie on the first playoff hole.

Rahm wins the individual championship without winning 1 event this season

I legitimately was going to watch the end, but the leaderboard said Munoz was at -21 with hole 18 next to his name which made me assume he was done and Rahm won by 1. Oh well.

In the end, Poulter was the only one who moved up out of the relegation zone passing up his own teammate & co-captain, Henrik Stenson.

Poulter shoots -4 today to finish T17 at -12.
Stenson missed a birdie putt on 18 to avoid relegation. Finishes with a +1 (72) today to finish T22 at -11.

So Stenson goes to liv, giving up Ryder cup captain, only to be kicked out of liv but he gets to still be a captain

So he traded a Ryder cup captaincy for a Griffondor LIv golf team captaincy in the end

Wild that Rahm could win the golfer of the year without winning a tournament. Seems off.

I never post on this board, but I was compelled by everything going on today. The tournament win, the league win, and relegation all on the line made for a lot of intrigue. I don't give a shite if it seems gimmicky, as long as it has my attention.

Last weekend in Bolingbrook was the first golf tournament I'd ever attended, and I was thoroughly entertained. I camped out at the 14th green and got within 2 ft of Phil, Bryson, Rahm and others as they left for the 15th tee. It was a cool experience.

I guess I don't get the hate. Yeah, sell-outs, blood money, no tradition, blah blah, whatever. It's still fun.

I guess that is where I get lost with LIV. It just doesn’t have that competitive feel to me. Feels like I’m watching a bigger version of “the matches” TNT produces.

The guy who the league title didn’t win a tournament all year. It’s just not serious golf to me.

That is a very broad statement. Correct, he did not win this year but he had

In 12 events

- 4 second place finishes
- 7 Top 5 finishes
- 11 Top 10 finishes

His worst finish was 11th

Yeah, Niemann won 5 times but he also had 4 finishes out side the Top 20 and 2 outside the Top 30. His only top 10 finish outside of his wins was this weekend.

Rahm was the best, most consistent player on the tour this season.

It’s a combination of a few things.

Only 13 events, the same 54 golfers. I mentioned it earlier in this thread, but despite Joaco’s 5 wins - Rahm finished better than him in 8 out of 13 events.
