The letter by Jay Monahan was 100% fear. I’m surprised the letter got out in that emotional format.

Mickelson's first bogey and DJ's first birdie on their last hole.

My biggest takes from everything.
1.PGA has been completely undressed on the money issue. With all of the TV, sponsors, attendance, merchandise, etc money, it's pretty obvious they are Screwing the players on the winnings at tourneys.
2.Banning players who go play a competitors tourney? Shows their desperation
3.IF the LIV holds up to its obligations to pay as promised, and continues to grow (tv deals and ads/sponsors), it will continue to pull talent from the PGA unless the PGA opens its wallets
4. LIV surviving could mean the next Tiger, Rory, etc, could just join LIV and end up costing the PGA billions.
5. LIV is not only a serious competitor, and the PGA is in full panic and proving that thru its actions
I feel like I'm reading a press release from Donald Trump after the USFL was formed

True what they just said...I bet the caddies are loving this tour

Its hurts them that people are enjoying this format
Nah, the format is cool. The PGA should take some lessons. It is the lineup that I think is funny. Big names, but not nearly the best players in the world currently. I still think a tournament of 100+ professionals that may have a career weekend is tougher than 50 players, many of whom, don't really even care if they win so long as the wire transfer goes through.

Phil looking like he's had a few hamburgers.

Who chose the team names? The captains, the team or were these assigned?

This feels like a bottom tier European Tour tournament that Phil and DJ decided to show up for

Yeah I noticed at the draft that both Phil and DJ looked noticeably heavier.

As I mentioned earlier - Right now, you can't watch the Rory, Justin Thomas, Corey Conners group playing unless you pay for an espn+ subscription. How much does the PGA make from espn+? Why don't the players get a cut of that?

How do you know they are "screwing the players"? The PGA can't compete with the money being thrown by an organization that doesn't care if they get any of it back.

They have no other move and are desperate, you are correct. They are in the middle of a hostile takeover and will never be able to pay what the Saudis are paying.

Of course, it will be the end of the PGA as we know it. Everyone has already been saying this.

Yep, but they have no other move either.

At this stage that's pretty much what most people expected it to be. The question is are they going to get more guys.

seriously, please go start your own thread if you're not gonna talk about what is going on in Rd 1. Your takes are not wanted here

Why don't the players get a cut of that?
No, you can’t, but you keep acting like you just know the players are getting shafted

The three letter names are something they took from formula one
Posted on 6/9/22 at 9:32 am to maizegoblue
The worst part is seeing these teams consistently move around on the side scoreboard and having zero idea who is on each team. It also feels like the Kentucky derby with how often the score board is moving around.
