LPGA player Christina Kim takes on Augusta National

"I know there were attempts made to try and see if the date could change because Augusta was doing what Augusta does," she said. "But it did not work for the region here either, so unfortunately, it would be easy to say there's no one to blame other than Augusta National, but that's neither here nor there. Everyone could have worked ... I'm sure everyone did everything they think that they could've done to keep the tournament here. But the reality is we're not coming back.”
Just wait ‘til male mini-tour players start “identifying” as female and start dominating the LPGA

This quote is so out of context and I have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

Kim is blaming moving the first LPGA major from Mission Hills to another course, and later in the year, on Augusta National.
It’s been mentioned all week on Golf Channel, Google, Yahoo, and I’d guess other news outlets

Ahhh gotcha. Well reading up on it a little she is probably right. Augusta National probably did strong arm them somewhat. I don’t like how she doesn’t give them credit for the ANWA though, I bet the girls who get to play in that are pretty thrilled to be playing Augusta.

Thanks. If she thinks the LPGA is going to come out on top in a PR battle against the green jackets then she needs to seek professional guidance. It doesn't make a real difference when or where the LPGA plays their majors. The TV ratings reflect that.

She is a self righteous arse clown and always has been. She is no longer relevant.

She's still mad because for years they begged for a women's tournament from Augusta and they pissed AN off to the point that they said fine, but only for amateurs and none of you can play.

This.
That fight goes at least as far back as the '80s...and maybe further, but I am not old enough to recall it.
When they announced the tournament as an amateur event and then went all-in on marketing it, I literally laughed out loud at the television.
It was a "Masterful" troll job of the LPGA.

Can somebody give us a recap of why AN doesn't like the LPGA? Seems odd after having women members and letting Anika play in the Master's. Is there a tournament in the works or is this a "never going to happen" type situation?

Weekend TV Ratings
No offense but everybody I know was watching these amateurs play because it was Augusta.
quote:
The final round of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur delivered a 1.0 overnight rating on NBC Saturday afternoon, the highest for any women’s golf telecast in nearly three years — since the 2016 U.S. Women’s open (0.98 to 0.96). It is also the highest for an amateur golf telecast, regardless of gender, since the 2003 U.S. Amateur men’s final (1.4).
No offense but everybody I know was watching these amateurs play because it was Augusta.

So you have met her? I have. She lives here. She is very cordial and offers advice on golf and courses around here.
She has had some mental health issues in her past. Her political views suck, but she's a caring person.

Just inferring from the events.
Augusta wants the Masters to be first major of the years.
LPGA has its major the weekend before the masters, complains that they don’t get to play Augusta.
Augusta puts womens amateur event on same date as LPGA major to take all the viewership away.
LPGA moves it’s major.
Reading between the lines Augusta probably did do this on purpose, basically they outfoxed the LPGA and beat them at their own game.
The coup de grace would be if they now moved the amateur event to the weekend after the Masters

I doubt AN wants viewers to see what the course grounds look like after The Masters. Not really the course itself, but the areas the patrons have worn down the week of the tournament.

No offense taken. I didn't watch it or record it.
