Have you played it? It’s crammed into too small of a piece of land. No holes have any character. It’s a primo course with a Webb level design

Everyone’s argument of BRCC being a “bland” course because it’s straight is made up by the best conditions in the state, elevated tee boxes, elevated greens, large sand traps, and huge Oaks lining every hole. I think the superb conditions make it so great. Quite the challenging course also.
I think the only connection you can make with BRCC and Webb is that BRCC used to be located where Webb is, a little BR history.

It was WAY harder before all the renovations and redesign. Trimming all those oaks helped lower some scores.

I love BRCC and Oakbourne. I guess I like the old school type courses. I don't find BRCC bland at all.

I’d probably use the same excuse if I hit it as short as you do

So you haven’t been there recently. Understandable.

BRCC was built at its present location.
Westdale CC (now Webb Park) was built in 1924 because BRCC has tight membership restrictions. LSU took it over in 1936 when Westdale CC folded. In 1957 BREC was given the course and has owned it ever since.
I can remember when Webb was very similar to BRCC. That makes sense because they were built just 8 years apart. The fairways were tree lined, the sand traps and greens were bigger too. It was much nicer then, but no not near as nice as BRCC.

I enjoyed the time I got to play BRCC, it isn’t a super memorable course I guess. But incredible conditions and the first par 3 over the water was cool. I definitely enjoy getting the chance to play old school cc’s like that. Similar vibe to Kansas City Country Club up here but not as good a course. Brcc and Carter are my two favorite BR courses. Didn’t ever play ccla

Not sure what the knock on Carter is. Please explain rather than downvote lol
Considering the amount of play Carter gets their Super has to be in the running for Super of the year.
